Aromatization of laundry in the dryer
Many housewives use fabric softener when washing clothes to impart a pleasant scent. However, after drying in the dryer, the scent often disappears. How can this be avoided?
The solution to this problem is to scent your laundry in the dryer. Then, when you take your clothes out of the dryer, you'll notice not only their softness but also a pleasant aroma. We'll tell you what scent enhancers are available and what users have to say about these fragrances.
Concentrated sheet conditioner
The simplest and most affordable solution is to use special scented wipes. The fabric softener sheets can be used in both the dryer and washing machine. Just put one “leaf” in the drum, and your laundry will acquire a pleasant aroma.
One scented wipe is enough to refresh up to five kilograms of laundry.
To preserve the scent, you can place this cloth in your closet with your linens as a sachet. This hypoallergenic product is made from environmentally friendly viscose. The sheet fabric softener is suitable for all fabrics and can be used for drying children's clothes.
In addition to aromatization, these wipes:
- have an antistatic effect;
- prevent fabric creasing;
- protect laundry from drying out too much.
You can buy air conditioner sheets at any hypermarket, household chemicals store, or on marketplaces. One pack of air conditioner sheets costs approximately $5.50–$7. Each pack contains 40 air conditioner sheets, enough for 30–40 cycles.
Instructions for use are provided on the product packaging. It's very simple. Simply load one scented towelette into the dryer drum along with your laundry. If your laundry is heavier than 4-5 kg, it's best to add two sheets. Then simply start the desired program and wait for the machine to finish.
How else can you give your laundry a fresh scent?
The following method isn't suitable for everyone. Some dryers, such as those from Miele, have a special compartment for fragrances. This compartment is used to add a fragrance that will impart a pleasant scent to your laundry.
The FragranceDos feature is available in almost all Miele dryers. The fragrance compartment is located under the drum loading opening. Opening the door reveals a circular recess.
The fragrances themselves are produced by the family-owned company Mane. A patented technology preserves the essential oils in the capsules. The capsule line includes the scents "Aqua," "Cocoon," and "Nature."
One bottle of fragrance is enough for approximately 50 machine drying cycles or 70 tumble drying cycles.
The capsule is inserted into a special slot under the dryer drum. The fragrance intensity is adjusted by rotating the fragrance bottle. According to the manufacturer, the pleasant scent lasts up to four weeks.
You can order scented tumble dryer capsules on marketplaces. Each bottle costs approximately $25–$28. Besides the pleasant scent, the product leaves clothes soft and silky.

As soon as I bought my Miele dryer, I immediately started looking for its "original" fragrances. Ordering a capsule was easy—I got one through Ozon. I tried several, but the one with the "Cocoon" fragrance smelled the best to me. I now order it regularly.
Let me say right away that I don't like "nuclear" scents that reek from a mile away. I prefer light, subtle notes. The Miele Cocoon fragrance diffuser is perfect for me.
The packaging for this small capsule is excellent. The box itself looks stylish and expensive. The cardboard contains all the necessary information, including how to use the bottle, adjust the fragrance intensity, expiration date, ingredients, storage instructions, and more.
The fragrance itself is small and protected against accidental opening. Miele dryers have a special recess in the lint filter for the capsule. Simply remove the protective strip and insert the bottle into the machine.
At first, I didn't realize there was an option to adjust the scent intensity. My laundry smelled really strong, which was a bit unsettling. It wasn't until six months later that I learned that the scent intensity can actually be adjusted. It's no coincidence that there's an arrow above the bottle opening indicating the amount of product being used.
To be honest, before ordering this fragrance, I couldn't find out what it smelled like online. There was no information, so I went to a salon and they let me look through the catalog. To me, "Miele Cocoon" is a warm scent with subtle woody notes. I even detected a hint of orientalism.
I didn't like the green and blue Miele machine fresheners at all. The first one reminds me of apple air freshener. The second one smells like a standard men's perfume or "Sea Breeze" toilet freshener. The yellow one produces the most expensive and pleasant scent; it's my favorite.
And one more recommendation: never remove the bottle or place it anywhere while cleaning the lint filter. I threw it in the washing machine while rinsing the filter element, and the contents of the capsule leaked into the drum. As a result, everything smelled, and I couldn't wash the smell off my hands for three weeks. So be careful and read the instructions carefully.

I love having my laundry soft and smelling wonderful after drying. That's why I use special scented dryer sheets. I tried three types of fabric softeners and settled on LENOR.
These are napkins from a Japanese manufacturer. They're made of a very thin woven material. After drying, I don't throw this piece away, but rather use it as a disposable cloth to wipe down the sink or bathtub.
I don't use fabric softener when washing. Drying sheets are enough for me – they make clothes soft and give them a delicate, pleasant scent. They have an antistatic effect – the fabric doesn't become staticky. One drying sheet is enough for me for 8-9 kilograms of laundry.
The wipes are packaged tightly and seal well. The dryer sheets retain their scent. The cardboard box itself has a slight odor, but it's not a problem. The manufacturer recommends storing the product in a dark, dry place at room temperature.

I noticed that after machine drying, clothes washed with fabric softener lose their pleasant scent. The dryer "absorbs" all the fragrance. So I started thinking about how to fix this.
A friend told me about special scented dryer sheets. You put one in the dryer, and your clothes are soft and smell wonderful after drying. I decided to give it a try and ordered the Hae Jasmine sheet fabric softener.
Each cloth is individually packaged. One sheet is enough for up to 9 kilograms of laundry. If the load is small, 2-3 kg, I even reuse the cloth.
I've already purchased all three scents from this brand. My favorite is the "Marine" scent, which comes in a blue box. A single package of 40 wipes costs about $8. It lasts me two months of use, so I think it's economical.
