Delicate wash cycle in LG washing machine

Delicate wash cycle in LG washing machineDelicate wash has long been considered a basic rather than a special wash cycle on washing machines, as virtually every model has this feature. The LG washing machine is no exception, and below is an overview of the delicate wash cycle in an LG washing machine. What settings does it include, what items and fabrics is it suitable for, and what is the best way to wash items on this cycle?

Main parameters of the algorithm

Although the delicate wash cycle should, in theory, have the same parameters regardless of model and manufacturer, the basic settings for this function vary across different brands of washing machines. Since we're reviewing LG washing machines, we'll use the F1056MD LG model as an example and use it to explore the key features of the delicate cycle in all LG washing machines.

If you select a delicate program and leave all the default settings, the cycle will last 48 minutes, washing with water at 30 degrees Celsius and a spin at 400 rpm. However, if you adjust the spin and temperature within the specified ranges, the cycle duration will also adjust accordingly.LG F1056MD washing machine

  • Washing in cold water without spinning will take only 27 minutes.
  • If you turn off the spin cycle but heat the water to 30 degrees, the cycle duration will increase to 30 minutes.
  • If there is no spin and the water is heated to the maximum permissible 40 degrees, the washing time will be 36 minutes.
  • Washing in cold water with a spin cycle of 400 rpm will take about 45 minutes.
  • Cycles with cold water and 800 rpm, as well as with a water temperature of 30 degrees and a spin speed of 400 rpm, will take 48 minutes.
  • Washing in 30 degree water with a spin speed of 800 rpm will take 51 minutes.
  • If you set the spin speed to 400 rpm and raise the temperature to 40 degrees, the cycle duration will be 54 minutes.
  • A maximum temperature of 40 degrees and a maximum spin speed of 800 will increase the program duration to 57 minutes.

Thus, the program duration, depending on the settings, can range from 27 to 57 minutes. Spin speed up to 800 rpm and water temperature up to 40 degrees Celsius are set either automatically or manually by the user. Some people complain about the long delicate programs on LG machines, but with certain settings the cycle can last less than half an hour, which is not that long.

Important! The main disappointment of LG washing machine owners is the lack of an extra rinse option for the delicate wash cycle.

This isn't entirely logical, as delicate washing still requires a huge amount of water. This means you have to wait until the cycle is complete and then run the rinse cycle as a separate program, which isn't always convenient.

What fabrics is it suitable for?

In fact, a huge number of items in our wardrobes and everyday life are made from fabrics that require gentle washing. They are used for lingerie, decorative textiles, and just about everything is made from these delicate materials these days, thanks to their beauty and sophistication. Old-generation delicate materials include silk, satin, organza, knitwear, lace, viscose, and the like. Of the materials invented relatively recently, acrylic, polyester, microfiber, elastane, nylon, knitwear and many others are considered delicate.

Please note! It doesn't matter what the item's origin is if you choose to wash it on the delicate cycle: it's suitable for both natural fibers and synthetics.

What other less obvious items of clothing or decor are typically washed on gentle cycles in washing machines?

  • Light tulle curtains.
  • Complexly tailored garments, structured, with an abundance of relief elements.
  • Items with fur, lace, or silk patches or inserts, as well as those decorated with braid or ruffles.
  • Items with an abundance of decorative elements of any other kind (appliqués, embroidery, rivets, rhinestones, sequins, etc.)
  • Sports breathable clothes.
  • Thermal underwear and lace underwear.
  • Materials that are described as being prone to shrinkage and color loss.
  • Woolen products, including even toys, hats and mittens.washing a woolen blanket
  • Clothes and other items containing elements of different, contrasting colors.
  • Expensive items, the integrity of which is very important.

If you're holding an item and unsure whether to wash it on a regular or delicate cycle, always choose the delicate cycle. The gentle setting will maintain the wash quality without damaging the item.
