Indesit washing machine diagnostics
If the cycle has stopped without reason and your Indesit washing machine's automatic diagnostics haven't started, you need to help. Activate the so-called test mode and determine the nature and extent of the problem. This can be done at home and without calling a technician: the key is to follow a specific procedure.
Why is this necessary?
Most often, there is no need for the user to intervene, since if there is a malfunction, the machine automatically begins self-diagnosis and displays an error code on the display. But sometimes the system freezes and does not activate the program for checking the washing machine modules. Then you should configure the search manually.
Modern Indesit washing machines are equipped with a self-diagnostic system that automatically runs a check of the machine's key components if a problem is suspected.
It's easy to tell if your washing machine isn't performing its diagnostics. In this case, the washing machine freezes during the wash, rinse, or spin cycle and doesn't respond to user commands at all. To get answers, you'll need to run the "Service Test" function and force the machine to begin the test.
How does it all work?
Despite the forced nature of the procedure, it will not harm the machine's system at all. Firstly, the program was developed and configured by the manufacturer using specialized technologies. Secondly, such an "inspection" is much safer and more informative than depressurizing the machine, followed by disassembly and inspection. Thirdly, the service test is faster and more accurate, narrowing down the range of possible faults. Activating the diagnostic program yourself is easy.
- We set the gear selector to the first position and press the “Start” button.
No more than 3 seconds should pass between changes in position.
- We switch to the second position, and then disconnect the machine from the power supply.
- We return the programmer to the first program and start the washing machine.
- We move the selector to the third mode and turn off the power again.

- Turn the knob to one and press “Start”.
- Select “Drain” and run the test program.
The machine will briefly check the machine's components, after which it will display a fault code on the screen. You'll need to decipher the code using the manufacturer's manual or the internet and pinpoint the location of the fault. If the machine doesn't have a display, the system will indicate the error by flashing LEDs on the dashboard.
The search for a faulty part occurs as follows. When the test program is turned on, a quick wash is launched on an empty tank, during which the system checks each element of the equipment for the quality of its operation. First, the fill valve is examined, followed by the integrity of the tank and the accuracy of the pressure switch's response to filling the drum. Next, the heating element's ability to heat the water to the set temperature and the motor speed are assessed. The washing machine will also perform a drain test, as well as a spin at maximum speed. As soon as any problems are detected, the control board will register the error and notify the user.
