Error E01 on a Vestel washing machine

Error E01 on a Vestel washing machineDuring the wash cycle, a Vestel washing machine may suddenly stop working and display the E01 error code. On models equipped with a display, the user will immediately see the error code. Machines without a display will notify the user of the malfunction by flashing two indicators – "Start/Pause" and "Rinse Hold." Let's look at what the E01 error code on a Vestel washing machine means and whether it can be repaired at home.

The meaning of the cipher and initial actions

What should I do to get my washing machine back in working order? First, I need to figure out what the problem is. Error code E01 indicates that the washing machine drum door is not closed tightly. Vestel. Reasons that may lead to system leaks:

  • failure of the hatch locking device;
  • warped door hinges;the door hinges may be damaged
  • damage to the locking device;
  • Malfunction of the triac on the control board responsible for blocking the hatch.

If your washing machine displays an error code, try the following: While starting the wash cycle (before the error code appears), press the drum door with your knee.

If the hatch is blocked, then the door locking system is fine, and the cause should be sought in the door mechanics.

Often, the error code is caused by misaligned door hinges. If a visual inspection reveals no defects, use an appropriately sized open-end wrench and tighten the hinge screws. If the screws are secure and haven't loosened, try unscrewing them and removing the door from the frame. Then, reinstall it as straight as possible. Usually, removing and reinstalling the hatch can correct the problem.

We inspect and repair the door latch

If repairing the washing machine fails, you need to look elsewhere for the cause. The door latch often malfunctions. The lever that fits into the hole becomes nicked. Fixing this is easy. If the latch is removable, it needs to be removed. If removing the latch is not possible, the entire door must be removed.the door lock is damaged

The nicks on the lever are sharpened with a file. The surface is then treated with graphite lubricant. Any excess lubricant should be removed from the lever to prevent damage to the laundry during the wash cycle. After this process, the latch (or the entire door) is replaced. In some cases, the springs or the latch hook are damaged. To fix this, the parts will need to be replaced.

Checking the UBL

If the machine displays an error message, but the locking mechanism is fine, it's best to check the door lock system. To do this, you'll need a multimeter. The tester is set to resistance measurement mode. Accessing the door lock system on Vestel machines is easy:

  • open the hatch;
  • unscrew the two fixing bolts;
  • bend back the edge of the drum cuff;
  • put your hand behind the body;
  • remove the UBL;
  • Disconnect the power supply from the device.the UBL failed

Place one multimeter probe on the neutral terminal and the other on the live terminal. If a three-digit number appears on the screen, everything is OK. Then place the first probe on the neutral terminal and the second on the ground terminal. The device is faulty if the multimeter shows 1 or 0.

Sometimes the tester doesn't detect a fault, but the lock still doesn't work. You need to inspect the lock itself; the problem is likely a worn bimetallic element. This part can't be repaired; you'll need to purchase a new locking system as a replacement.
