Daily Wash mode in a washing machine
While any sensible person intuitively understands the purpose of cycles like "Cotton," "Synthetics," or the "Rinse" and "Spin" functions, some names can be confusing. For example, what is the "Daily Wash" cycle in a washing machine? What settings does it have, and what can and cannot be washed in it? It's time to take a closer look at this intriguing cycle.
Features of the program
It's actually quite simple: Daily Wash is a complete analogue of the express programs found on virtually every washing machine. Of course, there are ultra-short wash cycles, such as those found on Samsung machines, which can be completed in 15 minutes, but most quick washes last 30-40 minutes. Accordingly, Daily Wash runs the same length. During this time, the cycle goes through all stages, from the main wash to the spin cycle and rinse cycle.
Of course, you can't expect miracles in half an hour. The program will perfectly refresh your clothes, eliminate light odors, and, at most, remove minor stains. If the stains are serious, you need to choose high-temperature modes (Cotton, Intensive wash or Pre-wash, which is equivalent to soaking). The standard parameters of the daily washing mode are characterized by the following:
- water temperature 30 or 40 degrees;
- spin at 800 rpm;
- washing duration from half an hour to 40 minutes.
If desired, you can slightly adjust the settings to suit your needs, but there are certain limitations. For example, you can't increase the temperature, as the express wash cycle doesn't require the heating element to operate for long periods. You can set the temperature to 30, 40 degrees, or wash in cold water. However, you can set the spin cycle to any desired value or even turn it off completely. The cycle will start at 1000 rpm and even higher.
The most striking advantage of this program is the savings, and it's twofold. First, we save time. The drum starts spinning immediately after startup, even while water is still filling. The movements are very sharp and rapid, which means the laundry gets wet better and is washed out in a short time. This is also facilitated by the reversible drum motion. Another savings is that most of our items don't actually require an intensive wash, which, thanks to the express program, is not necessary every time to remove minor stains.
Important! However, serious stains won't be removed using the fast setting. However, pre-soaking by hand with a good gel or home remedies can help.
Popular washing machine programs
To ensure the best performance from a washing machine, manufacturers never limit themselves to a limited set of modes. They strive to find the optimal set of parameters for each type of fabric and each situation. Among other popular washing machine programs, the following stand out:
- Cotton. The hottest and one of the longest cycles. It can last up to 2 hours, and the water temperature is 95 degrees Celsius, which is practically boiling. Natural, durable fabrics like cotton, linen, and cotton are washed perfectly on this cycle, even with the most stubborn stains.
- Express Cotton. A simplified version of the previous Cotton. The duration is reduced by heating the water to 60 degrees.
- Everyday wash. This is also a fairly long program (almost 2 hours), but it's designed for synthetic or blended fabrics. The water temperature is correspondingly low—30-40 degrees Celsius. Spin at 800 rpm.
- The delicate cycle is somewhat similar to the previous program. It has the same duration and water temperature, but the spin is less aggressive.

- Silent washing function. Reduced vibrations ensure minimal noise, making it ideal for use at night.
- Baby clothes. This is a very long cycle, lasting almost 2.5 hours. This duration is due to the extensive rinsing process, which is designed to completely remove detergent molecules from baby clothes. Temperature: 60°C.
- Refresh. Clothes are treated with steam, which smooths them out and gives them a fresher look.
- Down blanket. Suitable for washing not only blankets but also other bulky items with down or feather filling.
- Bio-care. Removes only protein stains, lasts only 15 minutes, but requires maximum water temperature.
- Hypoallergenic washing. High temperatures and a deep rinse will help remove irritants and allergens, from pollen to skin mites.
- Intensive 60. Similar to intensive washing, but with reduced energy consumption due to lower water heating (up to 60 degrees).
There is also a mode called “My Program”, which allows the user to independently select the washing parameters they need and save them in the machine’s memory as an independent function.
