Finish Dishwasher Gel

Gel Finish for dishwashersFinish products are very popular on the Russian market. Manufacturers offer tablets, powders, salt, gel, as well as dishwasher care products and fragrances. Many consumers like these products, while others don't see the point in overpaying for the brand. We've already reviewed Finish's powder and tablets, and now we'll take a closer look at the gel.

Finish Gel: composition and features

Gel dishwasher detergent dissolves faster than powder or, especially, tablets. Therefore, gel is suitable for all washing programs. The composition of the regular Finish All in One gel is practically no different from the composition of the powderLet's list the substances included in the composition:

  • no more than 30% sodium tripolyphosphate;
  • no more than 5% phosphates;
  • no more than 15% polycarboxylates;
  • no more than 5% surfactants;
  • enzymes (ferments);
  • preservatives;
  • flavorings.

Finish Eco Power Gel differs from regular gel in that it is phosphate- and fragrance-free. This gel-like cleaning solution is packaged in plastic bottles of 0.65, 1, 1.3, and 1.5 liters. The gel can be used to wash various dishes, including porcelain and silver. It fights stains of any complexity: from tea, lipstick, grease and others.

Please note: Dishwasher gel is manufactured in Poland, Finland, and Denmark.

How to use the gel

Gel Finish for dishwashersDishwasher gel, like powder, can be dosed at your own discretion, taking into account water hardness, the number of dishes, and the degree of soiling. Instructions for use are provided on each gel package. The manufacturer recommends using 20 ml of dishwasher gel for lightly soiled dishes and 25 ml for heavily soiled dishes.

If your dishwasher is only partially loaded, you may need significantly less product. Some packaging indicates the approximate number of washes one bottle of dishwashing gel will last. For example, a 1.3-liter bottle can last for 65 washes, or approximately two months if you load the dishwasher daily.

The gel is poured into the detergent compartment (dispenser) located on the inside of the machine door. Pouring the gel is easy thanks to the special spout on the bottle.The phrase "All in one" on the Finish gel packaging does not mean that you do not need to use salt.With very hard water, the machine needs salt to prevent the ion exchanger from failing and to work, softening the water. As for rinse aid, then it can also be used, at your discretion, if you need to achieve a shine for your dishes.

When I tried Finish gel, I didn't regret buying it. I recommend it to everyone because it has several advantages:

  • it leaves no streaks;
  • the product has a pleasant smell;
  • can be used without rinse aid.

With this gel, dishes are clean in no time! In my opinion, it's inexpensive, and the price matches the quality.

This product is effective because it's very light and lathers well. In short, I liked it.

I really wanted to try a Finish dishwasher detergent, so I bought a bottle of Finish All in 1 gel. I shouldn't have bought a large bottle; I should have experimented with smaller bottles. I didn't like it because it was too heavy. The ingredients are identical to others, although the manufacturer warns that it may cause allergies. I didn't notice any super effect from the gel. I washed a variety of dishes: plates, mugs, pots, and pans at different temperatures. Overall, it doesn't rinse well and doesn't clean dishes very well, and it's quite expensive. I won't use it again.

I was on a trip to Finland and bought Finish Eco Power dishwasher gel there. Europeans produce a truly high-quality detergent and it's affordable. It's blue with fine white granules. There's no information in Russian on the packaging, but it was clear it didn't contain harmful phosphates. You need 17 ml of the product per wash, but 10 ml is enough for me with a partial load. I liked the fact that the gel has no smell, and the dishes don’t smell after washing, whereas regular Finish has a terrible smell.

This gel does a great job of removing any kind of stain, and it's great for removing grease and tea stains. When washing glassware, it's best to add rinse aid, even though this gel claims to contain everything. Just set the rinse aid dosage to the minimum, and the results will be completely different. I also add salt, but the dosage is also minimal. And I have had no problems with either the machine or the dishes. The best product ever!

So, dishwasher gel is easy to use and dispense, and Finish isn't much different from other gels. However, users notice a difference in dishwashing results. Perhaps it all depends on the manufacturer. Finnish products are highly praised, so when purchasing, pay attention not only to the ingredients but also to the country of origin.
