HygienePlus function in the dishwasher
As we know, dishwashers have programs for different situations. For example, an express wash with cold water for light soiling, or an intensive program, where the water is heated to 70 degrees Celsius, for kitchen utensils like pots and pans. Over time, other useful options with specific names appear, which are not always clear to every user. Let's look at one such function—the HygienePlus function in a dishwasher. What does it do, and how can it be useful?
Purpose of HygienePlus
The phrase itself translates into Russian as "Hygiene Plus," making it clear that this function is designed for intensive disinfection of dishes with hot water. This option is especially relevant for young mothers who need to keep their dishes spotlessly clean, or for those who love to cook, as baking sheets, frying pans, and other similar utensils can only be thoroughly cleaned in hot water.
The Hygiene Plus function differs from the full intensive program in that it can be set on any program except the shortest ones (rinse and quick wash). It therefore serves as a supplement to the program rather than a standalone mode. All wash parameters are maintained, and the water temperature is increased to 70 degrees Celsius. The cycle time is extended by 10 minutes.
When should this program be enabled?
Siemens and Bosch were the first manufacturers to release dishwashers with this function. Since this function cannot be used on short programs, it is most often used in addition to intensive washing or night mode.
Important! HygienePlus is indicated on the dishwasher panel by a picture of a baby bottle.
To activate it, press this button after selecting a program, then start the selected mode. If the model doesn't have the Hygiene Plus function, you'll need to use the intensive wash program for the same purpose.
Machines equipped with an intensive program
There's little point in buying a dishwasher specifically for the Hygiene function, as it can easily be replaced with a regular intensive wash, and the selection of dishwashers with this mode is simply enormous. Here are some of the most popular models and their key features and parameters.
