What is i-time in a Haier washing machine?

Modern Haier washing machines are simply stunning in their design and software. Some models, in addition to standard features, also boast a number of truly unique additional functions that can make life significantly easier for their owners. The purpose of some buttons is far from clear. For example, do you know what the i-time function is? What is it, and what are its advantages?

How does i-time work?

People often confuse two functions: delay start and i-time. Delay start is no longer a surprise; it's found in virtually every modern washing machine model from any manufacturer. Most homeowners don't even use it, considering it unnecessary and useless. Meanwhile, the i-time function in Haier washing machines allows you to adjust the wash time regardless of the selected mode. In other words, it allows you to manually shorten or lengthen the program duration, reducing the wash or rinse time.

The i-time algorithm cannot be applied only to the “Spin/Drain” and “Self-Cleaning” modes; changes can be made to any other program.

Why is i-time useful?

Let's explore the benefits of this feature. Take the following scenario, for example. A woman plans to rinse several shirts and t-shirts in her Haier washing machine. She selects the 30-minute program. But if the items are practically clean and the goal is simply to freshen them up, a 30-minute wash is simply impractical.

If your washing machine has the i-time feature, you can double-click the i-time button on the touchpad to reduce the cycle time to 20 minutes. Each press reduces the cycle time by 5 minutes. In our case, both the wash and rinse times were reduced by 5 minutes. Since the clothes weren't too dirty, this won't affect the washing results. If there are stains or serious dirt on your items, you should think carefully before using this program.

A legitimate question might arise: why reduce the duration of a long program if you can simply choose a shorter one? The result will be the same. Not always. In short programs, the duration of each stage is strictly limited, so the effectiveness of some of them does not always meet the required level. And some programs (for example, an extra rinse) are not available at all. It's quite possible that by reducing the duration of the "Auto" program to 15 minutes, you will get a much better result than washing in the "Quick 15 Minute" mode.

Moreover, the i-time algorithm can even be used to adjust long cycles. What benefits does this offer to the homeowner? By reducing the duration of the process, you can wash more clothes in one day than with standard program settings.

Does the machine remember i-time settings?

According to owner reviews, Haier washing machines don't remember i-time settings. This program must be reconfigured even if the machine is running consecutively and the cycle continues.

However, if the washing machine unexpectedly loses power, its settings are not reset. For example, if the power goes out during a wash cycle using the i-time algorithm, when the power comes back on, the Haier will continue operating in the selected mode and retain its current settings.

   We have the opposite: when you turn on the in-time function, it adds washing time. Pressing it once adds 7 minutes. Pressing it again adds another 7. It increases the time it takes to complete the functions.
