Ariston AVSL 109 Washing Machine Manual
The Ariston AVSL 109 is a budget-friendly automatic washing machine without a display. This model is very popular among users, and not only because it's affordable. While this machine is very easy to use, people sometimes have questions that can be answered with the help of the manual. We've provided an abridged version of this manual in this publication.
First installation, then connection
After inspecting the washing machine for any external defects, remove the transport fasteners. Don't throw away these bolts; they may come in handy the next time you transport your "home helper." Now you can move the Ariston washing machine to the pre-prepared location.
Don't carry the washing machine alone; it's very heavy. Get help.
You can't just put a washing machine anywhere. The space needs to be prepared in advance: provide connections for the water and sewer pipes, install a separate, protected outlet, move large furniture out of the way, and properly reinforce the flooring. If the floor is too crooked, it needs to be leveled. Once the machine is in place, it must be leveled by adjusting the feet with a wrench. Each adjustment to the feet's height must be checked with a spirit level. Next, proceed as follows.
- We insert rubber sealing rings into the inlet hose, and then screw one end of the hose to the machine body, and the other through the tee tap to the water pipe.
- Now let's connect the drain hose. One end is already connected to the washing machine; all that's left is to remove the other end from its mountings and connect it to the drain trap or other means. Other connection methods are discussed in the article by K.How to connect the washing machine drain hose to the sewer.
- After ensuring there are no leaks, connect the washing machine to the outlet. The outlet must be a two-pole outlet with a grounding contact. The outlet itself must be moisture-resistant, and the phase wire must be protected by a residual-current circuit breaker. The outlet is powered by a copper wire with a cross-section of at least 1.5 mm2.
After connecting the washing machine, check that everything is working properly. If any problems arise, contact an authorized service center.
Powder receiver
Are you eager to try out your new washing machine? Don't rush! First, figure out how to use the detergent drawer, where to put the detergent, where to pour the bleach, and which compartment to put the fabric softener in. Let's figure it out.
The detergent drawer in the Ariston AVSL washing machine has a rather unusual appearance, being semicircular. You can see it in the picture below. Furthermore, each compartment in the drawer is labeled with numbers. Number 1 is the pre-wash compartment. Number 2 is the main wash compartment. And the third compartment is for various fabric softeners.
Place only special detergents intended for washing machines in the detergent drawer. Hand washing powder is not suitable, as it produces a large amount of foam, which is dangerous for the washing machine's electronics.
First and subsequent washes
A new washing machine needs to be cleaned, as its pipes can contain anything from machine oil to metal shavings. How do you clean it? It's very simple: just run the machine empty. Here are a few simple steps.
- We activate the washing machine using the “power” button.
- Open the powder tray and place a small amount of washing powder or a special product for cleaning the washing machine pipes into compartment “2”.
- Close the tray and the hatch. No laundry allowed.
- We select a long washing program, set the temperature to 900WITH.
- Turn off the spin cycle.
- Press the button to start the washing mode.
Once the washing machine has completed its cycle, it's ready for use. From there, the machine's full range of programs is at your disposal. We can only offer a few recommendations for washing specific items.
- Curtains and drapes. These textiles should be washed in a special laundry bag. For best results, select program #11 (without spinning), and avoid overloading the washing machine. It's best to only load the drum halfway.
- Down jackets. Turn the garment inside out and wash on a delicate cycle, rinsing twice. Spin on low.
- Fabric shoes. They can be washed with jeans at 60 degrees Celsius. If the shoes have glued elements, do not machine wash them.
- Woolen items. Wash wool very gently on a delicate cycle. Load no more than 1 kg of woolen items and rinse several times for perfect results.
Does the machine need maintenance?
Maintaining your Ariston AVSL washing machine is essential. It's not tedious and doesn't take much time. However, the benefits of these maintenance measures are invaluable, as experts estimate they can extend the life of your washing machine by an average of 3-4 years.
So, after washing and hanging your laundry to dry, return to the washing machine and open the door wide, then open the powder drawer to dry. Use a dry, clean, absorbent cloth to wipe the inside and outside of the powder drawer. Next, wipe the door seal (the large elastic band that encircles the door). If water gets on the control panel or other parts of the body, wipe it off, paying particular attention to the buttons and selector.
About once every six months, unscrew the debris filter cap and empty it. You can insert your fingers with a cloth wrapped around them and wipe away any remaining dirt. As a general rule, you should rinse the flow-through filter, which is installed on the inlet valve, once a year. If you have hard water, you should check the filter more often.
Finally, if you experience any problems with your washing machine during the warranty period, don't try to fix it yourself; contact an authorized service center. Good luck!
