Instructions for the Indesit WISL 83 washing machine

The Indesit WISL 83 washing machine is a relatively old model among this brand's machines. Some people have been using it for over six years, while some Italian models are up to 12 years old. Sooner or later, a malfunction occurs, and the user begins reading the manual, but the printed version may not have a Russian translation. How to connect?

Most Indesit washing machine manuals begin with instructions for unpacking and installing the appliance. This task isn't difficult, provided you have everything prepared, including:

• the installation site is leveled;
• cold water is supplied or a branch pipe and a tap are installed on the cold water mixer;
• a siphon with a drain for draining waste water from the washing machine was installed on the sink;
  

  Note: You can install a drain directly into the bathtub or toilet, but this method is unsafe and unsightly.

• An electrical outlet is connected, grounded in accordance with all safety regulations (a three-core cable with a cross-section of 1.5 sq. mm is used, there is a residual current circuit breaker).

After unpacking and inspecting the washing machine, remove the shipping bolts from the back of the appliance and seal the holes with plugs. Next, position the machine closer to the installation location and begin connecting the hoses. The inlet hose is screwed by hand using fitting washers, with one end to the water supply outlet and the other end to the machine. This is one of the simplest methods, but you can also connect it to a kitchen faucet orto the faucet in the bathroom.

Organizing the drainage shouldn't cause you any problems either. The trick is to prevent the drain hose from becoming stretched and causing self-draining. With a properly installed outlet, connecting to the power supply is as simple as plugging it in. If there's no such outlet, forget about extension cords and adapters. Call an electrician to install the cable and ensure everything is installed according to regulations.

Machine description

We won't describe the entire design of the washing machine; the user only needs to know how the detergent dispenser and control panel are arranged, so we'll focus on those. The Indesit WISL 83 washing machine's control panel is equipped with three selectors and six buttons. The selectors are used (from left to right) for:

• spin speed control;
• selection of washing temperature;
• Select a program designated by a number. There are 13 such programs in total, the names of which are listed on the front of the powder drawer.

The button needed to turn the machine on is the largest one, next to which is the program start/pause button. The other four buttons allow you to select additional functions (from left to right):

1. delayed start of washing;
2. stain removal, which involves bleaching or additional washing, this function cannot be used simultaneously with the ironing function;
3. light ironing – involves stopping the machine with water in the drum and then draining it, selecting the appropriate program;
4. additional rinse.

The detergent dispenser in this machine is located on the left side. For the main wash, pour the detergent into the middle compartment, and for the pre-wash, pour it into the left compartment. Fabric softener is added to the fabric softener compartment on the right. For bleaching, insert the removable container into the leftmost compartment and pour the bleach into it.

Important! Bleach should not contain chlorine. It will damage the fabric and will also damage the internal components of the machine.

How to use?

The Indesit WISL 83 washing machine manual offers a brief description of how to start a program, and there's really no need to explain it, it's all intuitive:

1. Turn on the machine by pressing the button.
2. Load the laundry, first separating it by color, type of fabric, and volume. Don't forget to sew on any loose items, remove small items from pockets, and close zippers.
3. Close the drum door.
4. Add powder and conditioner according to the dosage.
5. Turn the programmer to the desired mode.
6. Adjust spin and temperature.
7. Select an additional function if needed.
8. Press start.
9. When finished, turn off by pressing the button.

The first wash cycle in a new machine should be carried out without laundry in order to rinse the machine.

Safety and Maintenance

1. The machine is a household appliance for home use, not professional use.
2. Disconnect the appliance from the power supply after washing.

Malfunctions

If a malfunction occurs, make sure you can't fix it yourself. A clogged filter or strainer in front of the inlet hose, as well as overloading the machine, are common causes.    Am I correct in understanding that you can set any desired mode (1-13) and then manually adjust the temperature and spin? So, you can select program 1, which heats the water to 90 degrees, and then reduce the temperature to 30-40 degrees by manually selecting the temperature? So, the machine will wash "Intensive/Cotton," but at 30-40 degrees, and spin at the selected speed?
