Getting the machine ready for work

You need to plan the location where you plan to install your Indesit WITL 86 washing machine in advance, especially if you plan to install it between pieces of furniture. The base under the machine must be strong and stable. A level concrete or tiled floor is ideal, but a sturdy wooden base will also work, as long as it's properly prepared.

When organizing the space for the washing machine, remember to leave some space for the machine's utilities (hoses, power cord). Space in front of the machine should also be left to allow for easy access to the "home helper."

The top of the body must be open, since this is a top-loading machine, so the hatch and control panel are located on top.

1. The socket must be separate, with 2.5 mm2 wire, grounded, and protected by a circuit breaker.

3. The water drain must be raised above the floor level by at least 60 cm. If this is not done and the drain hose is not bent properly, water from the sewer may flow back into the machine.

Control panel device

The Indesit WITL 86 washing machine's top-mounted hatch and control panel are a favorite among seniors and those with mobility issues. Why is that? It's very simple; you don't have to bend over to operate this machine. Just stand up straight, load the laundry, press the appropriate buttons, and walk away. No discomfort whatsoever. Speaking of buttons and other control panel elements,

• Rotary knobs. This machine has three of these controls, and they're conveniently arranged in a row. On the far right is the program selector, slightly to the left is the temperature control knob, and further to the left is the spin control knob. The system is electromechanical, so there are no surprises—just turn the knob to the desired position and you're set.
• Buttons. The buttons are also conveniently arranged in a row, directly above the switches. The rightmost button is the most important; it turns our "home assistant" on and off. It's impossible to confuse it, as it's larger than the others. Even people with vision problems will easily recognize it. To the left is the program launch button and then the function buttons.
• Lights. Indicator lights are also very important, as the WITL 86 model has no display, meaning the lights play a crucial role – transmitting information from the machine to the user. The lights primarily indicate the washing program progress and the activation/deactivation of certain functions.

The inscriptions and drawings on the control panel will tell the user which buttons to press and which ones not to press.

A few words should also be said about the detergent drawer. While the drawer in top-loading washing machines isn't part of the control panel, you won't be able to get a good wash without it.

The WITL 86 model's dispenser is located on the inside of the door lid. It's unlike the detergent drawer of a front-loading machine. Its compartments are designed as special plastic pockets into which detergent is added up to a specified level. We'll describe these pockets from left to right.

1. Pocket number one is used only if the selected program includes soaking (pre-wash).
2. The second pocket is slightly wider than the first and is used to place washing powder or gel during the main wash.
3. The third pocket is for air conditioning.

Launch

Starting the Indesit WITL 86 follows the same process as any other machine of this brand. Press the large oval button and wait until the indicator light on the left begins flashing. Next, open the door and add detergent to the detergent drawers. Now open the drum's inner lids and place the pre-sorted laundry inside. Close the inner lids and the door. Now select a program using the dial, adjust the temperature and spin speed, and press the appropriate button to start the machine.
