Intensive wash in a Samsung washing machine
Removing old and ingrained stains is nearly impossible with the standard and quick cycles. For effective bleaching, soak the stained garment in hot water for a long time with a sufficient spin and rinse cycle. But that's no reason to forego the washing machine—the intensive wash cycle in your Samsung washing machine can help. Let's explore the differences between the intensive wash cycle and the standard cycle and what it looks like from the inside.
Characteristics of the regime
Before turning on an unfamiliar mode, it’s worth understanding what kind of washing it is. As practice shows, the duration and final temperature of water heating varies depending on the Samsung model. But there are several distinctive features.
The intensive program is distinguished by its multiple alternating stages. Alternating cold and hot water, soaking, and rapid spinning remove even the most stubborn stains from fabric. However, it's important to understand that this washing approach lengthens the cycle, so it lasts 1.5-2 times longer than a standard cycle. It also uses more resources, electricity, and detergent.
The “intensive” mode is activated by pressing the “Intensive wash” button or by moving the selector to the image of the dirty T-shirt.
An intensive wash cycle is only used for items that can withstand high temperatures. These include bedding, pajamas, and other items made of cotton, linen, and synthetics. Delicate fabrics such as silk or wool will not withstand such a "shake."
Activating the "Intensive" cycle is easy: just find the "Intensive Eco Wash" button on the dashboard or the image of a dirty T-shirt. Adjust the programmer to the desired position, add detergent to all compartments of the dispenser, and start the cycle by pressing the "Start" button.
What happens inside the machine?
Naturally, a washing machine will have to work harder to remove heavy stains. A single cycle will take 2 to 4 hours, and during this time, the laundry in the drum will be subjected to a harsh treatment that only durable materials can withstand. To improve the final result, it is recommended to fill the drum no more than 2/3 full. An overloaded washing machine will bleach less effectively, reducing the wash quality by 25%.
You can turn on intensive washing no more than 2-3 times a month!
In short, intensive washing goes through the following stages.
- Soaking. For the first 15-25 minutes, the drum fills, the clothes become completely wet, and the water allows the detergent to dissolve and penetrate the fibers.
- Switching to washing. For the next 20-30 minutes, the drum rotates slowly, intensifying the detergent's action.
- Pre-wash. Then, a quick wash cycle is run for 30-40 minutes, but at a higher water temperature.
- Rinsing. Occurs as usual.
- Spinning. Items are spun at the maximum allowed speed.

It's important to understand that intensive washing puts enormous stress not only on the laundry being washed, but also on the machine itself. The machine washes and spins at maximum speed, which affects the bearing assembly and the motor. The heating element, which maintains a high temperature for several hours, also overheats. The hoses that drain the tank also suffer from boiling water. An intensive wash cycle helps remove any stains, but it takes a long time and forces the machine to operate at full capacity.
