How to use an Ardo washing machine
The control panel of most washing machines is littered with various symbols and labels denoting auxiliary functions and special washing modes. The basic symbols, which users encounter regularly, are quickly memorized. However, some labels and sketches on the control panel can sometimes cause confusion among homeowners. To effectively use your Ardo washing machine, it's essential to understand all the available programs and add-ons.
Main programs
The number of washing modes and various functions varies across different washing machine models. However, the symbols on all machines are interpreted in the same way. The explanation is provided in the machine's operating instructions. First, let's look at the basic programs.
- Cotton – the cycle is depicted as a small box of cotton. It's used for washing cotton fabrics. Water temperatures for this cycle range from 60°C to 90°C, with an approximate cycle time of 2 hours 25 minutes to 2 hours 50 minutes.
- Synthetics – the cycle is indicated by a bulb on the control panel. Suitable for cleaning synthetic and semi-synthetic fabrics, with a wash time of 2 hours and 7 minutes.
- Express 20 (heating water to 35°C) – this program can be used to refresh or wash items with light soiling; the process takes 20 minutes.
- Wool – this cycle is marked with an interesting symbol: a ball of thread. This program ensures the most gentle cleaning possible for your items. The wash cycle takes an average of 56 minutes.
- Hand wash – this cycle is represented on the control panel by a basin symbol with a hand dipped in it. Suitable for washing clothes marked "Hand wash only" on the label.
- Quick wash – in 35 minutes, allocated by the intellect for washing, you can clean lightly soiled laundry made of mixed fabrics.
- Daily – this mode is indicated by a T-shirt icon on the control panel. It's ideal for daily laundry. The program is characterized not only by careful handling of things, but also by low consumption of energy and water resources.
- Sportswear – suitable for cleaning items that don't require ironing. The water is heated to 40°C, which helps keep the garments in shape.
- JEANS – a special cycle for denim fabrics that prevents fading and discoloration. Wash time: 1 hour 10 minutes.
- Shirts – indicated by the same symbol on the control panel. Water is heated to 40°C, allowing for gentle washing of shirts, and the spin cycle is reduced to prevent creasing.
- Spin – the button allows you to adjust the speed of rotation of the drum when wringing out the laundry.
You don't have to adjust the spin cycle yourself; you can wash your clothes using intelligently set parameters.

Understanding the meaning of each program can improve your washing results. By determining the fabric type and the degree of soiling, you can easily select the ideal program for each specific situation.
Auxiliary modes
Most of the extras included with the Ardo washing machine can be used in conjunction with the basic programs. Intelligent auxiliary functions make the washing process even more effective. Let's look at the main auxiliary programs described in the instructions.
- Extra Rinse. Enabling this function will remove any remaining detergent from fabrics.
- Delayed start. This feature is very convenient when you need to start washing later rather than immediately. Simply load the laundry into the drum, select a mode, and set the start time.
- Pre-wash. This mode is essential for cleaning heavily soiled items.
- Self-cleaning drum. By activating the automatic cleaning system, you can remove accumulated deposits, mold, and mildew from the drum surface, as well as the rubber seal surrounding the door.
- Easy ironing. This feature prevents wrinkles by spinning at a lower speed, and gently rocking the drum during the wash cycle. These precautions will certainly make ironing easier.
- Drying. Certain Ardo models are equipped with this feature. It activates automatically after the Cotton or Synthetics cycle ends. You can also set the drying option manually.

Your washing machine's additional features will help ensure the highest quality washing results. Using these auxiliary functions will make the process even more convenient and comfortable.
What to do with the machine and what not to do?
Proper operation of a washing machine requires knowledge of the basic rules. First, let's explain what you should never do when using a washing machine:
- Do not remove the detergent drawer after starting the wash cycle;
- Rotate the program selector only clockwise, do not turn the programmer in the opposite direction;
- If you have already selected a mode and started the wash, and the machine has started to draw water, do not change the set program, the machine may misinterpret such an instruction, and the wash will proceed in chaos mode;
- Do not use an extension cord to connect the washing machine to the electrical network. Some units consume a current of up to 3 kW, and it is quite difficult to find a household extension cord that can withstand this load;
- Do not drain wastewater using a detachable hose. The drain hose must be connected directly to the sewer pipe. It is important to ensure a secure and watertight connection between the drain hose and the outlet.
It's also important to consider recommendations that will help extend the life of your washing machine. Here's what we recommend:
- unplug the washing machine's power cord from the socket when you finish using the machine;
- The detergent drawer and hatch door should be kept open. This will prevent mold from forming on the seal and prevent unpleasant odors from developing in the tank.
- periodically clean the rubber seal from dirt, plaque, and washing powder residue;
- Clean the washing machine's dust filter from time to time;
- The detergent dispenser also needs cleaning – don’t forget to remove it from the housing and rinse it with water.
By caring for and taking care of your washing machine, you'll certainly extend its lifespan. Therefore, it's important to remember to follow all the recommendations.
