Turning on the Hansa washing machine

Turning on the Hansa washing machineModern household appliances are quite easy to operate – the control panels are intuitive, and the instructions are written in accessible language. If you've previously installed any front-loading or top-loading washer in your home, turning on your Hansa washing machine won't be a problem. Both turning it on and starting the wash cycle follows a standard procedure. However, it's best to reacquaint yourself with your newly purchased Hansa, review the operating instructions, and take the brand's features into account. We'll explain exactly what you need to know, point by point.

First launch of Hans's technology

New appliances require special care. It's strongly recommended not to use a newly purchased washing machine immediately; furthermore, it's advisable not to connect it to utility lines. The machine must be left to “stand” for some time at room temperature. Only after 2-3 hours can you remove the transport bolts, remove the factory stickers and begin installing the Hansa.

Do not operate the washing machine without the transport bolts removed, as this will cause severe internal mechanical damage!

The "clean" washing machine can be transported to the installation site and connected to the utilities. This includes the power cord, drain hose, and inlet hose. Afterward, you can run a wash cycle "empty"—without laundry, but with detergent. This removes the factory grease from the Hansa and tests its functionality.

After a successful technical start-up, you can start a standard wash cycle. This is easy—just follow the instructions below:

  • open the drum;
  • load the items, sorting them in advance by fabric type and color;we put things into the drum
  • make sure that the drum is filled according to the minimum and maximum capacity (the ideal option is a half-empty tank);
  • close the door tightly until it clicks;
  • add detergent to the powder dispenser (it is important to follow the dosage of powder and follow the markings on the compartments of the tray);if you sprinkle powder wherever you want
  • connect Hansa to the power supply;
  • start the machine by pressing the power button;
  • turn the program selector to the desired position;
  • adjust washing parameters if necessary;
  • Press "Start/Pause" to start the cycle.

The machine clicks when the wash cycle starts, locks the door, and begins filling with water. If the drum doesn't fill, the control panel flashes erratically, and an error code appears on the display. This means the program has been delayed due to a malfunction. You'll need to decipher the combination and fix the problem. Only then try turning the machine on again.

Setting up the equipment

If the machine is initially started on any setting due to an empty drum, the second and subsequent cycles require selecting a program based on the laundry. The type and color of fabric, as well as the degree of soiling, are important factors. Depending on the material and degree of soiling, a specific program setting is selected.

Finding out the list of programs available on your Hansa is easy—just look at the manual. It describes all the modes in detail, including their functions, duration, heating temperature, and spin quality. Additional buttons and control panel positions are also explained separately.Hansa WHC 1246 control panel

Knowing the programs and functions can greatly simplify the cleaning process. For example, an express wash will refresh lightly soiled items. Clothes made from synthetic or blended fabrics should be cleaned only on the same setting, which will prevent them from becoming deformed or losing color. It's recommended to wash baby clothes and accessories only on the "undershirt" cycle. The high temperature disinfects the diapers, the deep rinse completely removes the detergent, and the intensive spin speeds up subsequent drying.

On the contrary, choosing the wrong cycle will ruin the item. Wool washed on the "Cotton" cycle will inevitably shrink and become rough, while synthetics will remain untouched after a delicate wash—low temperatures and gentle rotation won't remove stains. It's best not to experiment, but to use the cycles strictly as intended.

Pour in the powder

Detergent also affects the quality of the wash. When adding it to the washing machine, it's important to consider three things. First, choose natural concentrates designed for machine washing. Second, follow the dosage instructions. Third, follow the markings on the detergent dispenser compartments. Almost all Hansa washing machine dispensers have three compartments:

  • on the left – for the main wash;
  • on the right – for pre-wash;
  • in the center – for additional liquid products (rinse aid, bleach, softener).powder tray compartments

Dosage is crucial. If you add too much detergent, your laundry won't be rinsed properly and will become covered in a white film; if you add too little, the stain will remain. It's best not to add detergent by eye, but rather follow the manufacturer's recommendations. The packaging for each concentrate specifies the optimal dosage based on the weight of the laundry. The included measuring spoon or cap will also help you measure out the dosage.

Treat the machine with care

Turning on the machine and starting the wash cycle are just the first steps in learning how to use the new Hansa. The user must not only know how to activate the cycle but also how to properly care for the appliance. To ensure the machine operates for a long time and without any problems, it is necessary to strictly follow the operating instructions specified by the manufacturer. All washing machine owners are advised to:

  • adhere to the prescribed loading weight (underweight and overweight are harmful to the equipment, causing imbalance, shaft play and internal damage to the drum);
  • keep the washing machine clean (after each wash, the body is wiped with a clean cloth, the dispenser is rinsed with water, and the hatch is left open to dry naturally);Wipe the outside of the case with a cloth and baking soda
  • Do not place shampoos or foreign objects on the machine lid (this will disrupt the balance);
  • do not adjust the washing parameters after starting the program (the board may “freeze” from excess information);
  • use high-quality detergents marked “automatic”;
  • add softeners and descalers;
  • regularly carry out a comprehensive cleaning of Hansa;
  • improve the input filtration system.

After purchasing a new Hansa, it's important to carefully read the instructions. Understanding all the rules, nuances, and requirements will help improve the quality of your washing machine and extend its lifespan.
