Why are there bearings in a washing machine?

The seal is installed on top of the bearing, in a specially designated seat. The gasket seals the hole, preventing dust and moisture from entering the unit. It's best to buy genuine seals rather than Chinese-made alternatives. Skimping on components in this case is pointless.
