What is the best washing powder? - reviews
Probably every housewife in the world dreams of finding the best washing powder for their washing machine somewhere in the store. It should clean clothes perfectly, not damage fabrics, and be economical to use. But the problem is, it's hard to find.
Nowadays, the shelves of household supermarkets are overflowing with a wide variety of detergent brands. Even the most basic supermarket can offer 10-15 different types. How can you find the best detergent among such a wide variety, and what should you do to find it? Only experts and consumers can answer these questions, so let's ask them for their independent opinion.
Rating of the best powders
Housewives aren't the only ones searching diligently for a good washing machine detergent. Our experts have conducted numerous tests, and the results are always different. The latest test was the most extensive. We purchased about 30 different detergents and washed laundry in our washing machine, one after another, soiled with fruit juice, grease, makeup, grass, paint, and borscht.
The result was not long in coming, but it did not please the experts. In the end, not a single powder dealt with all the stains perfectly. Given that the washing was done in hot water using a double rinse and Fuzzy Logic functionsNevertheless, in this peculiar race, winners have emerged.
- Ariel's "Mountain Spring" automatic washing machine detergent took first place by a small margin. The catch is, it doesn't achieve excellent results on any type of stain, but it did score a solid B on all counts, which is quite significant.
- Second place went to a good detergent called BiMax "100 Stains." It did an excellent job of removing borscht stains, but its performance on makeup stains was a C-. On all other counts, it got solid Bs.
- Our experts awarded third place this time to Tide "Alpine Freshness" washing machine detergent. It removes grass and grease fairly well, but other stains are very good, even getting close to a five-star rating.
Experts noted that Tide "Alpine Freshness" imparts a long-lasting pleasant scent to items, which indirectly hints at the presence of a large amount of chemicals.
- And finally, fourth place was narrowly secured by Biolan Color detergent. It surprisingly performed poorly on makeup and almost poorly on paint. On the remaining stains, it performed well and was "good to excellent."
We won't publish the remaining ranking points, and there's no need, since the other samples lagged far behind the leaders. Our experts, having conducted their research, have formed a fairly clear opinion about the laundry detergents currently available in stores. But we clearly need to go further here.
After some deliberation, it was decided to continue studying the quality of the powders. The following was done. We took the powders that topped our ratings and collected all the consumer reviews on them. Those we could find. Without the voice of the people, as they say, it's impossible to be objective. Let's compare the results of our experts' research with public reviews; perhaps we'll be able to reach a common denominator on the question: which laundry detergent for an automatic washing machine is the best?
Ariel Mountain Spring
Yulia Yuryevna88
The worst of the expensive detergents. It washes children's clothes terribly; my son's T-shirt had both juice stains and borscht stains on it after washing. Ariel "Mountain Spring" detergent doesn't even remove deodorant stains; on both my blouse and my husband's shirt, the stains remain as if they had never been in the washing machine. I bought the powder on sale with a good discount, but if I had known in advance how well it would wash, I would never have spent money on it.
After an unsuccessful attempt to wash clothes properly with this detergent, I decided to try increasing the dosage. I poured twice as much detergent into the machine's drawer, threw in my clothes, and started the wash. The results were even worse—half the detergent didn't dissolve or rinse out of the clothes. I had to run a second rinse, but it took three rinses to completely remove the Ariel powder granules. Don't buy this detergent—it washes horribly!

I'd recommend the decent Ariel "Mountain Spring" laundry detergent. I use it exclusively to wash my work overalls. Even if they're heavily soiled and oily, you can soak them in a basin for 20 minutes and then throw them in the washing machine – it cleans perfectly. Lately, I can't imagine my bachelor life without a washing machine and Ariel laundry detergent. I use it to wash everything from my notorious work overalls to my bed linen – it's never let me down.
I used Tide before, and it's generally a good detergent, but Ariel "Mountain Spring" washes much better. Overall, I recommend it to everyone, but be aware that you might end up with a counterfeit. I once accidentally bought a pack of counterfeit Ariel, compared it to an old, genuine pack, and found several differences. The quality of the counterfeit was absolutely terrible, so be careful!

Two months ago, I grabbed a pack of this detergent at Auchan, swayed by the low price. Overall, I'm happy; I thought it would be worse, since they were unlikely to sell anything good on sale. My old detergent didn't dissolve well, and the residue was always hanging around in the washing machine's powder drawer. Ariel dissolves completely, and I use a little less than the norm, although the last time my lipstick-stained T-shirt was unexpectedly difficult to wash off. Overall, I am very pleased with the powder and would confidently give it a four.
BiMax 100 stains
Irina Emelyanova
In my opinion, it's a decent powder; at least it's suitable for the washing machine and cleans clothes well. I first bought a pack of BiMax "100 Stains" a year ago when I went grocery shopping with a neighbor. I thought I'd just get Persil, out of habit, but eventually, my neighbor talked me into it, and I decided to give it a try.
There's nothing magical about this detergent, but it cleans better than the products I used before. I honestly didn't think much about its ingredients, but it removed wine and mustard stains from a kitchen towel perfectly. Now I use two types of detergent: BiMax more often and Persil less often. I now recommend BiMax "100 Stains" to my friends.

I bought BiMax "100 Stains" a year and a half ago, along with a Samsung washing machine, when my friend and I moved into a new apartment. I bought it on a whim, without really thinking about it, and now my wife uses it exclusively. She tried Tide and Ariel, but always ended up buying BiMax. The good thing about this detergent is that it's truly versatile: no matter what you wash, it always comes out on top. It turns out it cleans underwear, outerwear, and even kitchen towels. Even though I only use the washing machine once every six months, I'm still proud that, even by accident, I introduced my wife to this detergent; it's the best for us.

I used to think BiMax was a good detergent, but when I had the chance to compare it to Ariel, I switched to Ariel. BiMax is a decent detergent, and I was generally happy with it until I had to wash some oil-stained pants from work. It didn't clean a thing, so I tried Ariel, and it cleaned everything. BiMax is fine, but for really dirty clothes, get a better, more expensive detergent.
Tide Alpine Freshness
Lorik
I've been washing exclusively with Tide for five years, but a couple of years ago I tried Tide "Alpine Freshness" and was thrilled. Even in cold water, it washes children's clothes and towels perfectly, which is incredibly valuable for a family with three small children. If it weren't for Tide, I don't know what I'd do. My kids produce a huge amount of dirty laundry, and I do laundry every day, but the laundry basket still fills up before my eyes. I don’t know about you, but I’ve long ago decided which powder is the best – Tide Alpine Freshness.

I don't know who makes this powder or who makes it, but I've never seen such crap in my life. I foolishly bought Tide Alpine Fresh on sale, and now I don't know what to do with the pack. I feel bad throwing it away, but I can't use it. First of all, this powder smells strange. They should have just written it down as smelling like dead bedbugs; why mislead the consumer? Secondly, it doesn't dissolve—or rather, it does dissolve, but not completely. I strongly recommend this powder to no one!
Biolan Color
Corel
I bought Biolan Color for the first time at the dacha. I have a decommissioned washing machine there, so I only use it for occasional laundry. But now I'm using it at home, too. My grandson accidentally spilled fruit juice on the curtains, and we didn't notice until two days later, but Biolan did a great job. I'm still amazed—it's cheap, so you'd think it would wash worse than expensive ones, but in reality, it turns out to be the opposite.
@Smetanina
I want to warn people against buying a detergent called Biolan Color. I don't want to say too much, and I especially don't want to engage in negative advertising, but this detergent is absolutely disgusting. If I had poured hydrochloric acid into the washing machine, the effect would have been the same. I only washed my shirt with this detergent once, and it immediately fell apart, although I'd washed it with Persil five times before and it was fine. Absolutely avoid this detergent; it's only good for washing vests!
As you can see, consumers don't always agree with our experts about the quality of a particular powder. Therefore, for the sake of objectivity, we will not make any final conclusions. You've read the article, now you can draw your own conclusions. You now have all the information you need to do so. Good luck!

Every housewife chooses her own powder. And you can buy a wonderful product without spending money on expensive ones.
Powder and stain remover together.
I don't know what detergent to use to remove tea, pomegranate juice, and currant stains from white kitchen towels. After washing with any detergent (60 degrees Celsius), a second wash and only with bleach can remove them (I can tell you for sure that detergents contain a lot of soda ash). That's why not all stains are removed with detergents.
