Calgonite for dishwashers

Calgonite for dishwashersTo ensure long-lasting and reliable performance of your dishwasher, it's important to carefully select your detergent. If you buy a low-quality or inappropriate brand, your dishes will be dirty and your dishwasher will suffer significant damage. But choosing the right one isn't easy: the selection is quite wide. One such brand is Calgonit. Calgonit produces several dishwasher detergents. Let's take a closer look.

Types of funds

Calgonit offers users three types of dishwasher detergents: powders, tablets and gels. Despite the common composition and the same manufacturer, the formulations differ greatly in effectiveness and ease of use. Each has its own advantages and disadvantages, which is why consumers like or avoid them.

  1. Powder. Powdered formulas are losing their former popularity. Firstly, they are difficult to store. Secondly, they dissolve at the beginning of the cycle and do not withstand long "runs" with cycles lasting 3 hours or more. Thirdly, they easily spill during use.
  2. Tablets. More modern and confidently replacing powders. In tablet form, the cleaner dissolves more slowly, making it versatile and significantly improving cleaning results. Tablets contain both rinse aid and water softener, eliminating the need to purchase additional products. The dosage is also convenient: one tablet per cycle.
  3. Gel. It's considered the "golden mean," occupying a middle ground between powders and tablets. Its strength lies in its gentle action on dishes and its economical use, but it's expensive and sold in bulk containers.Powder, gel, or tablets: which one to choose?

This is a brief description of the purifiers offered by Calgonit. To better understand which type is more effective and convenient, it's worth examining each type in more detail. More on that below.

Tableted

The advantage of tablets is their convenience and ease of use. The dosage required for a cycle is calculated by the manufacturer, and the user only needs to place one tablet in a special compartment. Thanks to their concentrated formula, the tablets are compact, making them easy to store and manage.

Another advantage is its comprehensive action, thanks to the addition of a cleaner, rinse aid, fragrance, and salt to soften hard water. There's no need to purchase anything separately, as everything is already contained in the capsule. Furthermore, you won't have to touch the chemicals, as each tablet is protected by a shell that easily dissolves when placed in water.

The main advantages of the tablets are the calculated dosage and the presence of a rinse aid and softener.

But it's not without its drawbacks. The most important is the high cost, which is several times higher than that of powder or gels. However, manufacturers' efforts to reduce costs are already beginning to bear fruit, and the price of capsules is gradually falling. So, housewives are increasingly choosing Calgonit tablets.

Powder

Powders are cheaper than gels and tablets, especially if you buy bulk packaging and strictly adhere to the recommended dosage. With proper monitoring, the mixture will last for 3-4 months, which is beneficial for the family budget. A wide selection and affordability are also advantages.

As for disadvantages, there are three. The first is the inconvenience of use, as even with a measuring spoon, it's difficult to accurately pour the powder into the special compartment. The second drawback is the hassle of storing it, as the bulky bag takes up a lot of space, gets dirty, and absorbs moisture. The third "surprise" is the need to purchase additional rinse aid and softener if the water or washing conditions are poor. Because of this latter, the cost of powdered cleaners with these extras is comparable to that of tablets.

Gel-like

Gels are just as effective as tablets and superior to powders. Their main advantage is their liquid texture, which makes them gentler on plates and suitable even for fragile materials. They also rinse completely clean, leave no residue, and dispense easily with a measuring cup.

Its strengths include its concentrated formula, economical use, and low cost. Storage is also convenient, as the gel bottle can be easily placed anywhere, regardless of room humidity. However, one drawback is that the liquid won't withstand long cycles, as it will wash out of the tray within 180-200 minutes.
