Self-diagnostic system codes

By carefully studying the Bosch Logixx 8 washing machine manual, we can easily find a table of error codes for its self-diagnostic system. However, the description of these errors in the manual is rather poor. The manufacturer didn't deem it necessary to decipher all the errors in sufficient detail, so we'll do it for them.

1. Error F 16 indicates that the door lock system cannot lock the washing machine door cover.
2. Error code F17 indicates that the water pressure entering the machine through the inlet hose is too weak. Sometimes this code appears when there is no water in the water supply.
3. Error F 18 appears if the pump cannot drain the waste water quickly enough. The program takes 10 minutes to completely remove water. If for some reason the pump does not complete the operation within the allotted time, a code appears on the display.
4. Error code F19 may appear if there's a problem with the water heating system. In this case, the heating element is receiving a signal, but it's not working properly.

The most common cause of error F 19 is a layer of limescale on the heating element.

5. Error F 20 may appear when the heating element begins to heat up spontaneously, and the control module stops controlling this process.
6. Error code F 23 indicates the appearance of water in the washing machine tray and the activation of the Aquastop system.
7. Error F 25 indicates an error in the water level sensor; in rarer cases, this code indicates a failure of the water turbidity sensor.
8. Errors F26 and F27 indicate problems with the pressure sensor. These sensors often fail in Russian-assembled washing machines.
9. Error codes F28 and F29 indicate problems with the solenoid valve and the flow sensor. In rarer cases, these codes appear on the display due to low water pressure in the water supply system.
10. Error F31 indicates there's too much water in the washing machine's drum. For some reason, the system can't draw the specified amount of water, but instead draws too much. The pressure switch is most likely to blame.
11. Errors F34 and F36 indicate a physical malfunction of the hatch locking device. These errors indicate that the hatch locking device itself is functional, but the locking mechanism is malfunctioning, or the hatch locking device's power supply wire is making a poor connection.
12. Errors F37 and F38 indicate a faulty temperature sensor. F37 often appears when the sensor is damaged, while F38 appears when the sensor is de-energized or has poor contact.
13. Error code F indicates that the control module is unable to control engine speed. In this case, the control module is not receiving a valid signal from the tachometer, meaning the engine starts and runs at maximum speed.
14. Error code F43 indicates that the engine is unable to accelerate. In this case, it's highly likely that the engine or tachometer is faulty.
15. Error code F44 tells us that the motor cannot operate in reverse mode. The problem here isn't with the motor, but with the control module.
16. Error F 59 indicates a malfunction of a special 3D sensor, which is responsible for monitoring the power module.
17. Error code F60 indicates a faulty flow sensor. The control module simply stops detecting the sensor. It's most likely burned out.
18. Error F 61 indicates that the door locking device has completely burned out.
19. Less common errors F 63 and F 67 occur when there is a failure in the control board firmware or when the microprocessor is damaged.

Testing the system for faults

If system errors appear and then disappear, you should perform a full system test of your washing machine for critical faults.
