Pros and cons

Korean-made washing machines are very popular because they are inexpensive and, in terms of functionality and technology, are comparable to European-made machines.Machines with a large number of programs and functions are much cheaper than washing machines of the same class assembled in Europe. But the price is not the only advantage of such machines; they have a number of other advantages:

• Direct drive, first introduced in Korean washing machines. Machines with an inverter motor without a belt drive are more reliable and come with a warranty of at least 10 years;
• a large number of diverse programs;
• simple controls and clear panel markings;
• convenient buttons and large display;
• in most cases, quality parts.

Please note! Korean washing machines are assembled using automatic machines, unlike machines from Sweden and Germany, so they are inferior in reliability and quality, but more affordable.

As for disadvantages, there are always some. Korean washing machines do have their drawbacks, and here's a list:

• jamming of the hatch door lock;
• unstable electronics;
• The pipes often break.

Brands of Korean cars

The most famous Korean brands are Samsung, LG and Daewoo. Samsung washing machines assembled in Korea are not available in our country. Since the assembly plant is located in the Kaluga region, there's no need to import equipment from South Korea. This significantly impacts the quality of the equipment, as even the components used are Chinese, not Korean. So, the only thing left of the Korean brand in the washing machines is the brand name.

Please note! You can buy a Korean-made washing machine in another country or in Korea itself, but it will be significantly more expensive.

Washing machines from the Korean brand LG are also very popular among Russian consumers; they are relatively affordable and high-quality. LG engineers were the first to use direct-drive technology, which sets them apart from competitors. The manufacturer provides a 10-year warranty on its motors. According to user reviews These machines last about 8 years, sometimes even longer, without major breakdowns. They're also easy to repair, and spare parts are readily available in stores. However, like Samsung machines, Korean-assembled LG machines aren't available in our country. Almost all models are assembled in Russia and China.

Daewoo washing machines, which translates as "Universe," are equally well-known. This is entirely justified, as this company's products are renowned worldwide. These washing machines offer an optimal price-quality ratio and an original design (including an unusual pattern on the front). And most importantly, cars from this brand from South Korea can be purchased in our country, although there are also models assembled in China.

The Daewoo Electronics DWC-UD1213 is a washing machine with a dryer function. It can wash up to 10 kg of dry laundry and dry up to 6 kg—a significant amount. This model has non-standard dimensions, so it may not fit under a standard kitchen countertop. Its dimensions (WxDxH) are 63 x 80 x 93 cm. The spin cycle reaches 1200 rpm, which ensures Class A drying performance. The large 40 cm diameter door and 11 wash programs, including steam, are a plus. A drawback is the partial leak protection. The price of the unit is $687.

The Daewoo Electronics DWD-MH8011 is a budget washing machine with a removable lid for built-in installation. It has a spacious drum with a 6 kg load capacity. The spin speed is only 800 RPM. This full-size, standard machine has 9 wash programs. The average price is $250.

The Daewoo Electronics DWD-CV701 PC is a compact washing machine with a load capacity of just 3 kg. This machine fits easily into even the smallest bathroom, as it weighs only 17 kg and can be wall-mounted, with dimensions (WxDxH) of 55 x 29 x 60 cm. It spins at 700 rpm. It features six washing modes and a child safety lock, but only partial leak protection. The average price is $359.

The DAEWOO DWD-UD2412K is a washing machine with a large drum that holds 12 kg of dry laundry. The drum is tilted at a 40-degree angle, and the door has a diameter of 53 cm, making loading easy. The machine is also distinguished by the location of the control panel: it is not on the front, but on top, which makes the process of setting up the wash very convenient.

It has 9 programs and a 1200 rpm spin speed. The machine is non-standard in size, measuring 98 cm high, 79 cm deep, and 63 cm wide. The average price is $781.
