Where to put detergent in a Samsung washing machine
Household appliances have become an integral part of our daily lives. It's no wonder, as vacuum cleaners, dishwashers, microwaves, and many other devices make our lives much easier. Saving time and freeing ourselves from routine daily tasks is a natural appeal.
However, before using modern appliances in the home, it's important to learn all the intricacies and tricks of the trade. Sometimes, a homeowner is simply afraid of damaging the appliance if they misuse it. The Samsung automatic washing machine is no exception. Should I pour the detergent into the detergent drawer, or is it more efficient to put it directly into the drum? Which option is more economical for washing clothes? How do you decide which compartment to fill with detergent and which with conditioner?
Identifying the powder receptacle compartments
The solution to the problems that have arisen is possible if you try to understand the compartments for loading detergents. A Samsung washing machine is usually equipped with three powder compartments.Each has its own graphic symbol for identification. Let's take a closer look:
The compartment for detergents intended for the pre-wash program is designated by the symbols A or I. However, if a specific washing machine model does not have this function programmed, then the compartment is also not provided.
For the main wash program, fill compartment B or II with detergent. The designation may vary depending on the model.
The third compartment is for fabric softener or rinse aid. It may be marked with a star or flower symbol.
Over time, the symbols in your washing machine may fade, making it difficult to distinguish them. Don't worry, you can identify the compartments by their size:
the largest compartment is intended for filling with detergent for the main wash;
the medium-sized compartment is needed for the gel or powder that will be used in the preliminary program;
Pour the rinse solution into the last small cell.
If you can't visually determine the compartment dimensions, there's another simple method. Run the washing machine on any cycle that includes a wash cycle. Observe which compartment the water flows into first. This compartment is designated for the main wash.
Where to pour and pour what?
At first glance, this seems like a simple and insignificant question. But remember, if you pour detergent into the wrong dispenser compartments, you won't be happy with the washing results. You'll waste time and money, and the laundry will need to be washed again. So, before you start washing:
Fill the compartment marked with the symbols A or I with the detergent intended for the pre-wash programme;
substance for the main washing process - in compartment B/ll;
And lastly, pour fabric softener or conditioner into the smallest container. As indicated above, mark it with a star or flower.
Rinse aid can be added either before or during the machine's cycle. The key is to fill the compartment before the final rinse.
You may want to use additional detergents to improve washing results. Bleach, stain remover or powder enhancer are poured into compartment B/ll, intended for the main program. Anti-scale agents are also added to this compartment. It's important to remember that adding bleach or stain remover to the rinse compartment can have disastrous results.
What if you pour powder inside the drum?
There are certain laundry detergents that go directly into the drum—capsules filled with washing powder or gel. However, some housewives, seeking to save money, pour regular detergents directly into their Samsung washing machine, bypassing the dispenser compartments. We'll explore how effective this method is. It has many advantages.
It's economical in terms of the detergent used. You can add the detergent of your choice.
Rinse efficiency. Firstly, the powder is rinsed directly into the washing drum. Secondly, detergent particles trapped in the dispenser compartment clump together and then stick to the laundry. In our case, this isn't a concern.
If the compartment is broken, you can use this option to add powder.
Some capsules, designed for loading directly into the drum, combine several detergents. This, of course, simplifies the washing process.
While there are a number of advantages to adding powder to the tank, there are also some disadvantages. These will have to be taken into account, as the user cannot change anything.
The water temperature must be above 40°C (104°F). Otherwise, the detergent won't dissolve, and washing performance will be significantly reduced. Typically, the detergent is mixed with liquid in the compartment before entering the drum.
It's a good idea to purchase specially designed containers for the powder. Otherwise, most of the product will simply be washed away during the preliminary extraction process.
We have already discussed the case of the compartment breakdown. And while you can pour in powder directly, you can't pour in conditioner or rinse aid. These liquids should be added immediately before rinsing.
Do not add harsh detergents directly to the laundry in the drum. Undissolved bleach or stain remover can damage the color and quality of the fabric.
If you want to use the pre-program, you can only add powder through the powder compartment.
As you can see, there are both pros and cons to adding detergent directly to the drum. However, none of them prohibit this option. Therefore, when choosing a method, follow our recommendations. And may your appliances always be your helper.
