Where to pour gel in a Haier washing machine
Not all homeowners understand where to pour the washing gel in their Haier washing machine. Some believe the large compartment is exclusively for dry detergent, so they pour the liquid detergent into the fabric softener compartment. This is a big mistake.
Gel is a liquid laundry detergent. If you add it to the fabric softener compartment, it will only be released during the rinse cycle. Not only will it leave stains on your clothes, but the detergent will also remain on the fabric, which can cause allergies or skin irritation. Let's figure out where to pour the detergent.
What does the gel compartment look like?
Some users believe it doesn't matter which compartment of the tray you add the gel to. This isn't true. Automatic machine Haier does not take detergents from the powder compartment all at once, but according to the stage of the cycle. Therefore, it is very important to correctly distribute the compositions among the compartments.
For example, gel should be added to the machine's drum immediately. Liquid laundry detergent is used at the beginning of the cycle. The detergent dissolves in water, and its particles begin actively fighting stains.
Fabric softener is drawn into the machine during the rinse cycle. This stage of the cycle is designed to remove residual detergent from the fabric fibers. Adding gel to the fabric softener compartment will do no good.
The detergent drawers in Haier washing machines differ depending on the model.
Some washing machines have a detergent drawer with only two compartments. The left compartment is for the main wash, while the right compartment (with the blue "tab") holds fabric softener. The gel detergent is added to the left compartment, the same place as regular detergent.
Other Haier machines have a standard drawer with three compartments. The largest, left-hand one, marked with a Roman or Arabic numeral, is for dry laundry detergent or gel. The middle one is used for fabric softener. The right-hand one is where you add detergent when you activate the pre-soak cycle.
First, you need to look at the compartment sizes and their markings. For example, in the Haier HW60-BP12758 model, the compartments are arranged differently than usual. The main wash tray is located in the center and is the largest. Therefore, in this case, pour the gel into the center.
Some Haier models have four separate compartments in the detergent drawer: for bleach, liquid detergent, powdered detergent, and fabric softener. Follow the instructions carefully. If you have any doubts about where to pour the gel, be sure to consult the instructions.
Figuring out where to pour laundry detergent is very simple. Most often, it's in the largest compartment of the detergent drawer. If your machine has a completely non-standard drawer with four compartments, follow the instructions for the machine.
We remove and clean the powder receptacle
It is important to remember to periodically clean and dry the powder receptacle. Detergent residue, rust, and limescale accumulate on the walls of the tray. In very advanced cases, mold appears in the cuvette.
Wash and dry the detergent drawer periodically, ideally after each use of the washing machine.
To thoroughly clean the detergent drawer, you need to remove it from the washing machine. It's easy:
- Pull the cuvette out as far as it will go;
- Keeping a slight tension with one hand, press the plastic tab inside the dispenser with your free hand;
- Remove the powder container completely.

Now you can begin cleaning. If the stains are light and there's no heavy buildup on the walls, simply rinsing the drawer in warm water with a soft sponge will suffice. Then dry the detergent drawer before returning it to the washing machine.
You'll have to work a bit harder with detergent drawers that already have rust or limescale buildup. In this case, a thorough cleaning is required. First, remove the front part of the drawer by pressing the latches on the edges (some Haier washing machine drawers are removable). Next:
- take a large pan (the powder container should fit freely in it);
- pour 5-7 liters of boiling water into it;
- add a glass of citric acid to the water;
- Mix everything well until the granules are completely dissolved;
- place the powder receiver into the resulting solution;
- leave the tray to soak for 30 minutes;
- remove any remaining dirt and plaque with a sponge;
- Rinse the dispenser under running warm water.

Citric acid cleans the detergent drawer of your Haier washing machine perfectly, so there's no need to purchase any expensive special cleaners. Once finished, dry the dispenser and replace it in the machine. To prevent dirt and grime from accumulating in the drawer, it's best to rinse it after each use.
