Where to pour conditioner in a Haier washing machine
We all know that fabric softener makes our clothes soft and fragrant. However, this result depends not only on the quality of the product itself, but also on how it was used during the washing process. Today, we'll tell you how to properly add fabric softener to your Haier washing machine to ensure the quality of your clothes remains intact.
What does the rinse aid compartment look like?
Sometimes it seems like it doesn't matter which compartment the detergent ends up in. But in reality, things are different. The washing machine takes in the detergents one at a time, depending on the wash cycle. For example, fabric softener is applied during the rinse cycle, after the main wash cycle has finished. This is because the detergent is stored in a special compartment whose contents are released into the drum last.
If you pour fabric softener into the base compartment, the machine will pick it up during the wash cycle, and the product will be wasted because it will be washed away immediately!
Haier brand units have different drawers: there are "home helpers" with powder drawers consisting of two compartments, where the left one is intended for the main wash, and the right one is used for conditioner.
There are also models with standard three compartments, making it very difficult to confuse the fabric softener compartment with any other compartment. It has a plastic tab that's a different color. It also has the word "MAX" and a flower icon. If you see this compartment, feel free to fill it with fabric softener.
Take the Haier HW60-BP12758 washing machine drawer as an example. Its compartments appear standard, but in reality, they're arranged quite differently than many are accustomed to. The main detergent drawer is located in the center and is quite large. The fabric softener compartment is located on the left. If you look closely, you'll see a flower-shaped design.
There's another drawer design found in washing machines from the aforementioned brand. Instead of two or three compartments, it has four. However, we're primarily interested in the compartments located in the front. Be sure to study their markings and easily locate the right compartment, which is designated for the fabric softener. It's marked with a flower.
As you've already realized, there's nothing complicated about this process. Just take a closer look at your washing machine's drawer and figure out what each compartment is used for. If you're careful enough, you shouldn't encounter any problems.
How to remove and clean the powder drawer?
Always remember that detergent residue and water scale can seriously stain the detergent drawer. If you don't keep it clean, it will eventually stop working. But don't worry, we'll share an easy cleaning method that only requires a few simple ingredients. Before you can clean the drawer, you'll need to remove it from the machine. To do this, you'll need:
- pull the lid of the powder drawer and pull it out until it stops;
- Keeping a slight tension with one hand, press the plastic tab inside with the other and the tray will pop out.
If the compartment doesn't come out, don't try to force it out. Consult your machine's manual for instructions on how to remove it. Then, you can safely proceed to the next steps:
- prepare a large container;
- Boil water and pour it into the prepared container;
- Afterwards you will need to place the powder tray in a special solution.

To prepare it, you'll need 1 tablespoon of citric acid and a liter of water. If you're using 4 liters of water, you'll need 4 tablespoons of acid. Then, soak the tray in the prepared solution for 30-60 minutes. If it is heavily soiled, you can even leave it overnight for a more effective result.
Next, use a brush to remove all dirt. To thoroughly clean the tray, you can also use a cloth. It's important to take your time and approach the task with utmost seriousness and thoroughness, and only then will you achieve the desired result.
After all these steps, rinse the detergent drawer under running water and wipe dry. Congratulations – you've completed this task successfully! In the future, remember to regularly clean the detergent drawer to remove dirt and other deposits. This will ensure your laundry stays fresh and your washing machine lasts a long time.
