Where do I pour liquid detergent into the Atlant washing machine?
Delicate fabrics, wool, and down jackets shouldn't be washed with dry detergents—the granules don't dissolve well in cold water, penetrate the fibers, destroy the structure of the material, and ruin it. Therefore, it's recommended to use liquid detergent in the washing machine, which is much gentler and more effective. However, not everyone knows how to use liquid detergents correctly: where to add them, what to use, when, and how much. Rather than experimenting, we suggest understanding gel concentrates step by step.
Is there a special department?
Most Atlant washing machines have three compartments for detergent. The first, largest, compartment holds dry detergent. The second, smaller compartment is used for pre-wash. The third, central and smallest compartment is for additional liquid detergents, such as fabric softeners, rinse aids, and stain removers.
There's no separate compartment for liquid detergents, so many users wonder where to pour the concentrate. There are three options, but not all of them are desirable or effective.
Instead of conditioner. Logically, liquid detergents should be poured into the liquid compartment, but this is not the case. The fact is that the central drawer is used by the washing machine only during the rinsing stage. This means the laundry will be swirled in clean water for the main wash and then rinsed in soapy water. There's also a problem with dosing—the compartment is very small.
Instead of dry detergent, some people pour liquid detergent into the main wash compartment. The capacity is sufficient, and the detergent is removed during the wash cycle. However, there's a significant drawback: the gel immediately drains into the drum before the water appears, and if it gets on the fabric, it can damage items.
Directly into the drum. If the dispenser isn't working, there's only one option: pour the liquid directly into the drum. The key is to do it correctly and avoid spilling the concentrate on your laundry.
Those who value the condition of their linen should choose the third option. In this case, proceed as follows:
measure out the required amount of gel, based on the type of items and instructions;
open the hatch door;
pour liquid into the drum;
as soon as the liquid flows down through the holes in the drum, pour out a mug of clean water (it is necessary to wash off the concentrate from the surface);
We rotate the drum a few times to give the gel time to dissolve;
we load the laundry into the drum;
close the hatch door;
if necessary, add rinse aid to the tray;
We turn on the washing mode.
Do not pour detergent onto laundry – without water, the concentrate will “corrode” the fabric, discoloring and damaging the fibers.
The main advantage of the "drum" option is that it eliminates direct contact between the laundry and the concentrate. However, there are also several drawbacks. Firstly, when filling the drum with water, some of the remaining liquid drains down the drain, taking some of the detergent with it. Secondly, some programs on Atlant require gradual release of the detergent in 2-3 batches, whereas in this case, everything is poured in at once.
The ideal solution is to purchase a special dispenser for the detergent. These are plastic cups or balls that are filled with the detergent and placed in the drum. These dispensers have holes in the surface, allowing the gel solution to be gradually washed out during the wash cycle. This solves two problems at once.
How much product should be poured?
Once you've decided whether to pour the detergent into the powder compartment or the drum, the next question is: how much? While you can guesstimate a proven formula, this won't work with a new one. It's best not to experiment, but rather follow the instructions the first few times.
Here are some recommendations to help you determine the dosage:
carefully read all the information on the product packaging;
Match the amount of detergent to the weight of the items loaded into the drum;
When choosing a program with double rinse, it is better to pour in more powder;
when washing on a quick cycle, the amount of gel should be reduced;
If the fabric increases foaming, the dosage is reduced by 1.5-2 times.
Manufacturers claim that gel concentrates dissolve faster, are resistant to cold water, and are gentle on fabrics. Another advantage is their cost-effectiveness: concentrated liquids are consumed more slowly than their bulk counterparts. However, everything is debatable, since even among dry powders there are brands with an active natural composition that acts gently and effectively. It's better to try personally and choose your own leaders.
