Mini washing machines for summer cottages

mini washing machines for summer cottagesSmall washing machines are needed not only by those who lack space in their apartment for a full-size appliance, but also by those who spend the summer at their dacha. It's dacha owners who most often buy mini washing machines, as they tend to wash only a small amount of laundry. It's important to understand which washing machines are suitable for dacha use.

Types of machines

First, it's important to understand what constitutes a small washing machine. It's quite simple: both automatic drum-type washing machines and semi-automatic activator-type machines can be considered small. Automatic machines, of course, are more popular. They're easy to operate, but they're packed with complex electronics that are vulnerable to power surges, which are more common in a summer house.

small-sized automatic machineA mini automatic washing machine, due to its unusual dimensions, is considerably more expensive. It's also worth noting that there aren't many models of such machines on the market. An automatic washing machine for a summer house is chosen when replacing an old appliance in an apartment. The old machine is transported to the summer house, and the new one is installed at home. If you need a small and inexpensive machine, then it is better to buy a semi-automatic machine.

There are activator machines without a wringer, also known as mini machines or "Baby" machines, and machines with a wringer. Double-tank machines are also relatively small, weighing up to 20 kg. All of them don't require a running water supply or sewer system; water is poured directly into the tank with a bucket. While some have a special hose that can be attached to a water tap, such a tap is often not available at a summer house.

Important! A motor-driven car can be left in an unheated house over the winter, whereas an automatic car may not survive such a winter.

How to choose the best one

You can buy any washing machine for your dacha, but before you do, you need to answer the following questions:

  1. Is there running water at the dacha? (If installing a machine without running water difficulties may arise, so you should not rush into making such a choice).
  2. How often do you plan to wash clothes, and how much laundry will you load into the machine? If you use it frequently, an automatic machine is better; it can handle a larger load and the motor won't overheat.
  3. What type of laundry are you going to wash, and do you need any additional features? For simple garden items and bed linens, a power washer will be sufficient, but for washing delicate fabrics, an automatic washer is more suitable.
  4. Do you need a spin cycle? A spin cycle is a feature that will save you time and effort. In our opinion, it's not worth skipping; activator-powered machines with a spin cycle aren't much more expensive than those without, but if size is a concern, that's the decision you'll have to make.
  5. How much money can you spend on a car for your dacha? The smaller the budget, the simpler the equipment will be, but that doesn't mean it's bad; it can be economical.

Remember! The more complex the equipment, the more difficult it is to repair. You're unlikely to want to repair an automatic washing machine intended for your summer house.

If you answer all these questions before you go to the store, you have a better chance of buying a better car. You will take into account everything that is important to you, whereas in a store they may push a product that needs to be sold urgently and it is not at all necessary that it will meet your requirements.
