How to replace the door seal on a Bosch washing machine
A worn door seal on a Bosch washing machine can almost always be detected by visual inspection. Most often, damage to the door seal manifests itself in the most unpleasant way: the machine simply starts leaking. The damaged seal allows water to leak freely from under the door cover during the wash and rinse cycles. Replacing the door seal on your Bosch washing machine yourself can solve the problem, but how do you accomplish this task if you've never done anything like this before? Let's find out.
Disassembling the machine
Almost any Bosch washing machine repair should begin with completely shutting down the machine. Unplug the power cord and turn off the water. In this case, the drain hose can be left connected. Next, pull the machine out slightly to access the rear of the machine. To replace the door seal, you'll need to partially remove it.disassemble the washing machine Bosch brand, let's do this first. First, remove the top cover.

- Take a hex screwdriver and unscrew the two screws located at the top of the rear wall of the Bosch washing machine housing; they hold the top cover in place.
- We pull the cover out of place and move it back a little.
- We lift the lid up and put it aside.
Now it's time to remove the control panel. First, remove the detergent drawer by pressing the tab located above the rinse aid compartment. Next, unscrew the screws located on the sides of the detergent drawer and on the end of the control panel. After this, the panel should come off without any problem.

Be careful not to disconnect any of the wires that will run behind the control panel. It's best to leave them connected and place the control panel on top of the washing machine.
Under the front panel of the washing machine, there's a narrow decorative panel concealing the emergency drain hose and debris filter. Remove it. It's secured with special fasteners, so remove it carefully to avoid damaging the plastic clips. Next, open the door lid wide, grasp the edge of the seal at the top, and locate the spring clamp. Carefully pry the clamp with a screwdriver and gently pull it off. The seal can now be tucked into the drum.

Let's begin removing the front panel of the Bosch washing machine. First, unscrew the screws near the door lock. Next, unscrew the screws located below, near the debris filter and the emergency drain hose. Lastly, unscrew the screw located above the door. Carefully pull the front panel off, making sure to disconnect the door lock wire.

That's it, the rubber seal on your Bosch washing machine is now free. Now you can begin removing the damaged part and then installing the new seal.
Removing the hatch cuff
It would seem that removing the seal from the drum would be so easy now that we've removed everything that might get in the way. Not so. On some Bosch washing machines, the front counterweights clamp the edges of the seal so tightly that it's impossible to pull the rubber seal out from underneath. If this happens to you, you'll need to unscrew the counterweights first and then remove the seal.

Most often, the rubber gasket can be released without removing the counterweight. Use a screwdriver to pry up the second spring clamp, located at the base of the seal, and remove the seal together with the clamp. The old, damaged seal can be discarded, but the clamps should be kept; we'll reuse them.
Installing a new part
It's time to install the seal. Purchase a new, original rubber seal and inspect it for defects. If it's intact, pull the seal over the edges of the sunroof. Note that the seal has three holes located next to each other. When pulling the seal, the holes should be positioned at the 6 o'clock position (from the bottom).

Take the spring clamp we previously removed from the base of the old cuff and pull it over the base of the new elastic. Make sure the cuff is fully inserted and the clamp is firmly in place at the base. This clamp is also called a retaining ring, but we feel that's unnecessary.

If the seal fits snugly and doesn't wobble, you can begin assembling your Bosch washing machine. First, install the front panel, connect the door locking system, and tighten all screws. Next, screw in the control panel and replace the detergent drawer. Replace and tighten the top cover, and then replace the decorative panel.

Next, we replace the spring clamp and check that it is securely in place. Finally, we slide the washing machine back into place and connect it to the water and power. The repair is complete.

As you may have noticed, replacing the seal is a relatively simple washing machine repair, and you can easily do it yourself, provided you have the instructions. We've provided just that instruction manual today. We believe it illustrates the repair process as thoroughly as possible, so feel free to use it. Good luck!
