Brands and brands of washing machines
Nowadays, with rare exceptions, you'll find homes that manage without a washing machine. They've become so ingrained in our frantic pace of life that the expression "I'd be lost without one" is taken literally. With a huge selection of different brands of washing machines on the market, it can sometimes be quite difficult to choose the one that performs its job well.
Criteria for choosing washing machines
The first thing you need to decide is the dimensions of your washing machine. There's a wide selection of both narrow and wide, standard-size washing machines (85x60x58 cm; height, width, depth). In reality, the selection of narrow machines isn't as diverse as that of their wide counterparts.
Paying attention to the characteristics of any washing machine models, choose the optimal loading method for you. For example, In small spaces, a top-loading washing machine will be convenient, as it does not take up much space. When choosing a front-loading machine, the best option would be one with a door that opens 180 degrees.
One of the most important factors is the choice of material for the washing machine drum and tub. Stainless steel is preferred. A washing machine with stainless steel components is less susceptible to corrosion.
Number of spins. Experts recommend choosing a washing machine with a spin speed of 800 to 1200. At this speed, laundry will shrink less and remain slightly damp.
The latest washing machines feature a variety of functions, one of which is a drying function. The advantage of this function is that it helps save time on washing, and you remove dry laundry from the machine, ready to be ironed. However, when drying laundry, the machine doesn't handle the delicates. Therefore, don't be surprised if your clothes end up looking chewed.
Another disadvantage is that the washing machine's technical capabilities simply don't allow for drying all the laundry. For example, you washed five kilograms of laundry, but can only dry two kilograms. You'll have to load and dry the laundry one by one.
Classification of washing machines by technical characteristics
The European Union has set standards for washing efficiency, from class A to class G. It is not difficult to guess that class A includes more expensive washing machine models.
Machines marked with the letters A and B indicate that this washing machine washes your laundry very gently and carefully. Furthermore, this washing machine saves energy when washing.
Classes C, D, and E are considered mid-range, while F and G are considered low-end. These same classes also apply to the washing machine's spin cycle and, as mentioned earlier, energy consumption.
The technical specifications also include the control system. Every modern model is equipped with one or another system. Each system performs its own function:
- water consumption control;
- control of uniform distribution of laundry inside the drum;
- foam control;
- setting the required water temperature;
- the system automatically selects the appropriate washing mode for a specific fabric;
- The system takes control of the required number of rinses, spins, and so on.
Selecting the country of manufacture of the washing machine
All these characteristics significantly affect the final price of the product. But that's not all. Washing machine brands, of which there are a huge number on the Russian market, also play a significant role in pricing. Don't immediately go for a recognizable brand, as manufacturers often choose other countries for their washing machines to save money.
When choosing any washing machine model, pay attention to the country of manufacture. Turkish manufacturers offer the shortest service life for washing machines. Turkish-made washing machines have a warranty period of no more than five years.
Asian and Italian manufacturers guarantee that their washing machines will serve you faithfully for eight years. German manufacturers, however, offer warranties ranging from ten to twenty years. One brand of washing machines was the exception, but more on that later. Swedish and Austrian manufacturers offer the longest service life, with washing machines expected to last over twenty years.
Brands and brands of washing machines
- The German brand Miele ranks first in product quality. The manufacturer uses only high-quality parts. The washing machine itself is assembled by hand and exclusively in Germany. Miele's washing machines have the longest service life (approximately 30 years). This washing machine has one drawback: the price. It's very expensive, even for those with above-average incomes.
- Second place is occupied by several washing machine brands, again from Germany, Sweden, and Austria. These include Bosch, Hansa, Kaiser, Siemens, and Age (Germany), as well as Evronova, Evroshoba, and Singdenova (Austria). Austrian models have components imported from Germany and Italy, but they are distinguished by their excellent quality. The Bosch and Siemens models, however, are assembled in Spain, albeit using German technology. If you're looking for a high-quality Bosch, for example, look for... German assemblyThere are no narrow Siemens machines (assembled in Germany) on the Russian market. If you want high-quality products, place an order.
- Ariston, Zanussi, Indesit, Ardo, and Candy are all made in Italy. These products exemplify the value for money. The tilted drum ensures a much more efficient wash. However, there's a caveat here. Judging by the reviews of these brands, choose only genuine Italian-made products, as other brands are less well-made.
- Siltal, from an Italian manufacturer, is considered one of the best Italian products. Note: renowned manufacturers order spare parts for their products from this company. It is known for its quality and reliability, and most importantly, its affordable price. The warranty period is approximately 9 years.
- Vestel and Veko from a Turkish manufacturer. Their affordable price and reliable performance throughout their entire service life make these brands highly sought after by many customers.
- American-made "Maydag", "Whirlpool", and "Frigidaire" have been delighting consumers with their low prices and corresponding product quality for almost a hundred years.
- 7. The Japanese washing machine manufacturer Panasonic made its name famous by the fact that the machine really works silently, as stated.
- Next up are Korean manufacturers, which, after all others, hold a solid position in terms of quality and reliability. These include LG, Samsung, and Daewoo Electronics. Their products are distinguished by their quality. And again, this applies if the product was assembled directly in the country of manufacture.
- Among these positions, we can also include other more or less well-known washing machine brands that adhere to the principle that price must necessarily correspond to quality. These are French, English, and Slavic brands: Made, Brendt, Gorenje, Hoover, and Reeson.
Recommendations for choosing washing machines
As an epilogue to this article, let's look at some tips and recommendations from people who have encountered the products presented above.
- When purchasing a washing machine, try to buy only the product of the assembly specified in the country of manufacture.
- If you can afford it, when choosing appliances, it's best to opt for German products. After all, Germans are renowned for their meticulousness and attention to detail. Indeed, all their appliances are made with care.
- Remember that the washing machine's manufacturing process doesn't affect its wash performance. It affects the lifespan and quality of the machine itself, but not its functions.
- The stated kilogram capacity of a washing machine should be calculated based on wet laundry, not dry weight.
- Don't overload your washing machine. Otherwise, even the most expensive and high-quality washing machine won't last more than two years.
Before purchasing a washing machine, you should check whether there are repair services for this brand of washing machine in your city.

An interesting and informative article from which you can glean a lot. However, I disagree with the list of recommended washing machines. I have a different opinion. For example, I appreciate the high quality and reliability of the Atlant machine. I bought an Atlant SMA 50U102-010 washing machine at a very reasonable price and have been using it for over a year. I couldn't be happier with my purchase, as it washes very well and efficiently. It can hold up to 5 kg at a time. Plus, you can just turn it on and forget about it because it's completely silent. And it uses minimal energy.
Atlant is a truly good brand. They truly do everything conscientiously! My 2016 machine is in its second year of service. And it's still going strong, I highly recommend Atlant!
