Wall-mounted washing machine - independent review

Daewoo Electronics recently introduced a new product to the Russian market: a miniature wall-mounted washing machine. According to the manufacturer, In Korea itself, this curious “gadget” has been on sale for a year now and is very popular.

At the presentation of the equipment, the wall-mounted washing machine was described as “taking washing to a new level.”

What does it represent?

DE DWD-CV701P is a regular front-loading washing machine, only quite small. The set includes a plastic tub and a stainless steel drum with a honeycomb pattern for gentle washing. It features an inverter motor.

The design of this machine differs from larger models in that it lacks a pump to draw and drain water when required by the wash cycle. Since the mini model is designed for wall mounting, above the sewer pipes, the water can drain into the sewer system by gravity.

• The largest overall dimension is height, which is 60 cm.
• The maximum load of the model is 3 kg, the total weight is 16.5 kg.

Who is it intended for?

According to the manufacturer, DE DWD-CV701P can be used:

• as an additional one - a second washing machine in the apartment;
• for separate washing of children's clothes;
• As a washing machine for singles. I'd like to add that a single set of bed linen weighs about 2 kg, so it can also be washed in a miniature washing machine;
• for urgent washing of a necessary item that has unexpectedly become dirty.

What does she look like?

This mini model has a modern, stylish design. It will look harmonious on the wall of a bathroom, kitchen, or even a living room. The silver parallelepiped shape with rounded corners and a circular glass hatch in the center creates an elegant interior piece, especially when combined with a stylish room design.

Hi-Tech

A wall-mounted washing machine can only be installed on a solid wall. (Brick or monolithic, void-free)—this is a safety requirement. It's certainly more than twice as light as any floor-standing machine. However, it still weighs 16.5 kg, not to mention laundry and water. And don't forget the dynamic loads from the running motor.

There's another issue that requires attention. Since the water drains by gravity, the distance from the mini-model mounting location to the sewer pipes should be short, with minimal turns and elevation changes.

How does it work?

The wall-mounted washing machine has seven programs, covering the entire range of washing needs. From a short cold water cycle to the most popular cotton wash at 60 degrees Celsius, it also includes a program for delicates and a spin and rinse cycle without washing.

The features aren't top-notch, but they're sufficient for home use. The dashboard features child lock and leak protection.

How does it wash? Tests

Cotton T-shirts specially soaked in ketchup were chosen for the test.

The mini model's front panel features removable scoop-shaped containers for laundry detergent and fabric softener. These are convenient for scooping up detergent and then placing the containers back on the front panel.

The washing process is quite quiet: the motor runs silently, but the splashes and sounds of running water are quite audible. The noise level during spinning is significantly louder, but does not exceed 60 dB. No significant vibration was observed during operation. When installing the machine on a wall, the instructions strongly recommend using vibration-damping pads.

Tests showed that the mini model did the job, and light-colored T-shirts were washed free of ketchup without any traces.

Conclusions

The wall-mounted washing machine turned out to have many more advantages than disadvantages:

• good washing results;
• ease of use;
• minimal noise and vibration;
• stylish design that takes pride of place in any interior;
• space saving: the machine does not take up space on the floor.

The only downsides that can be noted are the limitations on the installation location (load-bearing wall, access to sewer pipes).

Thus, it turns out that the Daewoo Electronics DWD-CV701PC is high-quality, useful, and interesting equipment that is sure to find its buyer.
