The Bosch dishwasher won't switch programs.

If you notice that your Bosch dishwasher isn't switching programs, don't rush to call a technician. In some cases, the problem is quite simple to fix. Let's figure out what to do in this situation and how to restore your dishwasher to working order.
How does the problem manifest itself?
It's easy to tell if your dishwasher isn't changing programs. The problem manifests itself as follows: after turning on the machine, the default setting is Auto. Symptoms typically include:
- The Auto program is selected immediately after turning on the dishwasher, the cycle duration is about two and a half hours;

- attempts to switch modes remain unsuccessful, and pressing the buttons on the dishwasher’s control panel is confirmed by flashing indicators;
- The cycle starts automatically after the door is closed.
A Bosch dishwasher can get stuck in Auto mode for a variety of reasons. Sometimes it's a temporary system glitch, while other times it's a faulty control module. First, try simply clearing the error and restoring the machine to working order.
Troubleshooting options
Usually, the problem can be resolved without repairing the dishwasher. If the problem is a random system failure, something like resetting the dishwasher may help. You need to press and hold the "Reset» for 3-5 seconds until the dishwasher display shows the remaining time until the end of the program «00:01».
Next, wait 1 minute for the dishwasher to complete the cycle. After this, turn the dishwasher off using the button, then restart it. This usually clears the previously unfinished cycle and restores the ability to select washing programs.
If this method doesn't work, you'll need to open the dishwasher door after the program ends. Only then can the dishwasher turn off and on again.
There's another simple method you can use to revive your dishwasher. Start the machine and let it complete a program that wasn't completed earlier (for example, due to a power outage). After this, the ability to select modes will be restored.
If the above methods don't help, you'll need to call a dishwasher repair technician. Further steps will require knowledge and experience with electronics, as well as specialized tools. You'll need to disassemble the dishwasher and perform some "magic" on its main control module.
To repair a dishwasher that does not switch washing modes, you will need a programmer.
The algorithm of actions will be as follows:
- turn off the power to the dishwasher and disconnect it from the utilities;
- Partially disassemble the dishwasher to access the main control module;
- disconnect the control board and remove it from the case;
- remove the protective cover from the module;
- Find the eeprom 24c08wp chip on the control board;

- Using a hair dryer, disconnect the microcircuit from the module;
- read data from the desoldered microcircuit using a special programmer;
- Using a laptop and a programmer, write this data to the new chip;
- solder the new eeprom back onto the control board;
- Assemble the dishwasher body.
Then, press and hold the "Reset" button for 3-5 seconds until the display shows "00:01." After a minute, the machine will turn off and restart. After this, the programs will cycle through again.
The eeprom 24c08wp microcircuit on the Bosch dishwasher control board fails and stops rewriting information, resulting in the washing programs not switching.
This microcircuit is a weak point on the control board of Bosch dishwashers. Writing to the eeprom occurs continuously, both during the washing program and when the machine is turned on/off. Therefore, a simple power surge during operation can cause the component to fail. It will need to be replaced, after first transferring the data from the old part to the new one.
