Whirlpool washing machine won't turn on
Users sometimes encounter the following problem: their Whirlpool washing machine won't turn on. This can occur for several reasons, which the owner can either identify and fix themselves or just discover. In any case, this will require looking inside the machine and inspecting the components.
What happened?
In this section, we'll look at the malfunctions that could cause your washing machine to stop working. As mentioned above, there may be several possible causes, so we'll provide a complete list.

- No power. This could be due to a broken or accidentally unplugged cord, a faulty outlet, or simply a power outage.
- There is something wrong with the start button or the programmer that controls all the buttons.
- The FPS or the wiring next to it burned out.
- The hatch locking device is broken, which prevents the machine from starting to function in a faulty condition.
- Problems with the control board.
If the problem is one of the above, your washing machine will exhibit characteristic symptoms. For example, it won't respond to the start button; when plugged in, all the indicator lights will light up and begin flashing erratically; even when the indicator light comes on, the machine won't start. However, keep in mind that the problem is not always due to a serious breakdown; it is possible that some kind of malfunction occurred or factors that have nothing to do with the car were involved.
If you are not confident in your diagnostic and repair abilities, contact a specialist!
Let's start checking
We should start with the simplest: the external components of the machine, which can be checked without disassembling it. In our case, this includes the electrical wiring.
- Check it for kinks or damage. If you find any, fix it and try starting the car.
- If the wire is fine, check if there is electricity in the house; perhaps no appliances are working right now.
- After all, the wire can simply be unplugged from the socket where it would otherwise need to be plugged in.
- As a last resort, try replacing the wire, as there may be problems with it that you are unlikely to be able to detect.
And only after you have done everything you could, but the unit still does not start washing, should you call a technician or continue to inspect the inside of the machine yourself.
Cause and effect of failure
Sometimes a washing machine won't start because the power strip (PS) is broken, which can burn out as a result of a power surge. To find it, remove the top cover of the washing machine by unscrewing the screws that hold it in place. You'll then easily find this device near the side panel. Typically, if it's faulty, you'll see signs of swelling on it or burn marks on nearby wiring. In this case, the filter needs to be replaced.
In any case, check the wiring with a multimeter.
Another cause is burnt wiring leading from the filter to the start button or control module. This should also be checked with a multimeter. When turned on, the button should conduct current. If it doesn't, the problem is most likely either in the wiring or the button. Check both with a multimeter. If the button is faulty, it can be replaced. However, the button itself may also be faulty due to exposure to detergent. Clean the button groove and try again. Replacement is not necessary.
Sometimes, a brand-new washing machine won't turn on. In this case, we don't recommend disassembling it right away. First, request a warranty repair (if you try to tinker with the machine, you'll definitely be denied). If it's a manufacturing defect, it will be fixed, but if not, you can take action yourself.
Sometimes even a reliable, used machine refuses to function after moving. This can happen due to water getting on the electronic module, since water always remains in the dispenser tray, and it doesn't occur to the owners to ensure that it doesn't get on any internal components during transportation. What to do in this case?
- Remove the top cover of the washing machine, having first disconnected the machine from the power supply for safety reasons.
- Remove the dispenser tray.
- Then unscrew the screws holding the control panel and remove it.
- Take a photo of the wiring and remove it too.
- Now you can remove the module from the panel and take it to the repair center.
All of the above procedures are quite complex to perform without sufficient experience. Therefore, if you're unsure whether you can successfully follow all the instructions, it's best to consult a professional. They'll charge a fee for their work, but if you damage anything else during the repair, you'll be charged even more. Always be careful!

Can you recommend a Whirlpool AWT5108? It makes a clicking sound when it starts, but then it's quiet.
You need to look at the board!
Whirlpool AWE 6415. The machine won't start. The "Door Open" indicator lights up. Can you tell me if I can repair it myself?
