Indesit top-loading washing machine malfunctions

Indesit top-loading washing machine malfunctionsExperienced technicians already know the typical faults in Indesit top-loading machines by heart. Most often, owners of Indesit washing machines suffer from electronic failures, but they rarely encounter the need to replace bearings. We suggest avoiding future surprises and addressing potential issues with this manufacturer's machines right away.

The drum turned with the doors open

Three out of ten Indesit washing machine owners contact the service center because of an inverted drum. More specifically, the drum doors open while spinning or scroll downwards when stopped, making it difficult to unload laundry and continue using the machine. The reasons for such troubles lie in a weakened hatch lock or careless closingIn any case, it's difficult to handle the task on your own, and calling a repairman will cost a pretty penny.

If your washing machine is still under warranty, contact a service center immediately for professional assistance.

But there's no need to worry, as this is a common problem, and DIY fixes have long been available. Here's how to do it.

  1. We find a long, elastic and strong wire (ideally, we look for steel and a diameter of 0.3-0.6 cm).
  2. Using pliers, bend one end into a “hook”.
  3. We push the bent end into the washing machine.
  4. We try to hook the door and close the hatch.
  5. After closing the doors, we turn the drum over by rotating it.the drum flaps opened

If your Indesit washing machine has a small opening, inserting the hook will be problematic. However, there is a solution: simply enlarge one of the "holes" and try the procedure again. If the wire doesn't work, you'll have to completely disassemble the machine and close the door manually.

Problems with the control module

Indesit washing machines are also notorious for their poor-quality electronics. These problems manifest themselves in constant system freezes mid-cycle or unexpected program resets. Often, the machine will fail to activate a certain mode, even though other buttons work without issue.

It is not recommended to attempt to repair a faulty control board yourself – only professionals can perform a full diagnosis and fix the problem.

The scale and nature of the faults vary greatly, which only complicates the repairs. So, most often, users encounter crashed firmware, burnt-out triacs, resistors, and capacitors. But other breakdowns associated with loose contacts and poorly soldered tracks cannot be ruled out.

To protect your Indesit from potential electronic failures, you should connect a voltage stabilizer to the circuit. A steady current supply will smooth out the normal electrical impulses and extend the module's lifespan. However, expensive devices aren't typically purchased with inexpensive washing machines, and the module can't handle a problematic electrical system.
