Sanit Dishwasher Powder Review

Sanit powderThe sheer number of dishwasher detergents available makes it difficult to choose. There are both imported and Russian-made products. We decided to take a closer look at one of these Russian-made products and find out its ingredients and what consumers think of it.

Characteristics of the product

Sanit powder, as the packaging indicates, is manufactured in Moscow by MG-CHEMICAL LLC. This product has a fine, white granular structure without any inclusions. The powder is packaged in kilogram cardboard or polyethylene containers.

This powder contains the following substances:

  • surfactants,
  • oxygen-containing bleach,
  • Phosphates, with levels exceeding 30%. This concentration is unacceptable in laundry detergent, let alone dishwashing detergent, which comes into contact with the plates we eat from;
  • enzymes;
  • silicates;
  • action enhancers.

Overall, it's safe to say that the formula is quite aggressive and likely cleans dishes well, but testing is needed to prove this.

Please note! Sanit laundry detergent is available in two forms: regular and 3-in-1, which contains salt and rinse aid in addition to detergent.

Reviews of the powder

Like all dishwasher owners, I was wondering which product to buy. At first, in a positive mood, I bought various 3-in-1 and 5-in-1 tablets, but over time I realized they were getting expensive. Then one day, I came across this product at Auchan. After reading the ingredients—it's chlorine-free but contains three types of enzymes to remove various stains—I decided to buy it.

The result was as follows: it cleans dishes thoroughly and gently, rinses easily, and doesn't leave streaks during drying. The price is excellent—just $0.97—but you still need to factor in salt and rinse aid, which you use less frequently. In short, there's simply no difference compared to tablets.

I often experiment with dishwasher powders. This time, I chose a Russian-made product, which I found attractive at just $1. One package of this product lasts for about 30 washes, maybe a little more.

The results were certainly impressive: the dishes were clean and streak-free, and I even thought it cleaned even better than Calgonita. However, this doesn't offset its drawbacks, which stem from its chemical composition, namely the presence of surfactants and phosphates, the harmful effects of which everyone knows. However, I don't think this product is any more harmful than tablets. And if you think everything in this world is harmful, then you can definitely choose this powder; it works great. Otherwise, wash by hand in hot water.

I consider this powder dangerous because it contains over 30% phosphates. My husband bought it and decided to try it. At first, everything was fine, and it seemed like it made no difference. But the more we washed with this powder, the more white residue remained on the dishes. Conclusion: the product is terrible, I do not recommend it to anyone.

I've been using this dishwasher detergent for almost six months and haven't noticed any drawbacks. In my opinion, the dishwasher is capable of cleaning most dishes without detergent, except for greasy pans. The price difference compared to advertised detergents doesn't affect the cleaning performance.

Out of greed, I bought two packs of the detergent at once at Auchan; the price seemed awfully low. I'll admit right away that I didn't like the packaging, as it was awkward to pour from a plastic bag. The detergent was terrible for cleaning, leaving a white residue not only on the dishes but also on the walls of the dishwasher. I don't add salt because my water is soft, and the instructions say that salt isn't needed for that kind of hardness.

I googled this product, wanting to improve it. Some people suggested adding washing soda to the powder. The cleaning results improved, but the stains still remained. Don't buy this powder under any circumstances; it'll only cause you more problems.

After purchasing our "home helper" washing machine, we began to carefully choose a dishwashing detergent. Like many, we started with Finish tablets, but we decided we weren't ready to spend that much money on them. A relative recommended the Russian detergent Sanit, so we bought it and haven't regretted it. We also use their salt, and we use Finish as a rinse aid. We have no complaints, as it cleans well and leaves no residue or odor. The only drawback is that it doesn't remove burnt baking sheets or stuck-on meat from pots.

So, once again, we've seen that every dishwasher detergent has its pros and cons. Until you try it yourself, you won't know how it performs. Moreover, it's inexpensive and easy to throw out. Happy shopping!

    That's not true! The powder is excellent, and considering the price, it's simply wonderful! I've been using it for two years now, and my dishes are sparkling. But don't skimp on salt and rinse aid. It's a shame they don't sell it at Auchan anymore, so I'm looking online.
