Premium Dishwashers Review

elite dishwashersStatistics show that many people aren't content with budget-class dishwashers. Sales of premium dishwashers haven't increased, but they haven't declined significantly either, despite the significant rise in the dollar exchange rate and the economic crisis. We decided to select the best premium dishwasher models and include them in our short review to introduce them to our readers. Here's what we found.

Miele G 6891 SCVi K2O

The most expensive dishwasher in our review is the Miele G 6891 SCVi K2O from a renowned German manufacturer. This fully integrated model is currently priced at around $3,680—the equivalent of buying a used car. Based on price alone, this is truly a premium dishwasher, but what about its features?

  1. Its capacity exceeds 14 place settings. Although the manufacturer lists the capacity as 14 place settings, users claim the machine can wash up to 16 place settings at a time.
  2. The equipment has a modern color display and electronic control.
  3. The machine uses less than 10 liters of water per wash cycle.
  4. Miele G 6891 SCVi K2O works very quietly. At maximum speed it produces 41 dB.
  5. The renowned German dishwasher has 10 washing programs, and you can also set as many as 7 temperature settings.
  6. There is a limited load mode, although with such low water consumption it is unlikely to be needed.
  7. You can set a program and delay its start for up to one day in one-hour increments.

The machine has a ton of bells and whistles. Besides the familiar "floor beam," it has excellent interior lighting, the ability to use 3-in-1 and 7-in-1 cleaning products, etc., protection against any water leaks, and even unique technologies like a tap-to-open door.

The model features a useful AutoOpen feature. After the program ends, the machine automatically opens, allowing you to remove dry and clean dishes whenever you want.

The lack of a child lock feature was noticeable. For such an expensive appliance, this is a drawback. Otherwise, the model is very decent and washes dishes very well. In the professional rating, the machine scored 9.8 out of 10, an excellent result.

Kuppersbusch IGVE 6610.2

The considerably more modestly priced Kuppersbusch IGVE 6610.2 dishwasher will be a worthy addition to any high-end kitchen. It will set you back approximately $2,326. It is assembled from the highest-quality materials and is hand-tested. Its technical specifications are comparatively modest. The basket holds approximately 13 place settings. It has surprisingly standard electronic controls and a very basic display. While it might seem unworthy at first glance, Kuppersbusch appliances are actually very reliable and can operate reliably for decades without needing repair.

Kuppersbusch IGVE 6610.2

The Kuppersbusch IGVE 6610.2 is quite economical, using only 9.5 liters of water per cycle. It has only five wash modes, but they are well-chosen. The machine has a standard set of additional features, including the "Intensive Zone." It also features a unique Multiflex Premium basket, which folds out and cleans cutlery perfectly.

Asko D 5896 XL

This expensive dishwasher impresses with its specifications. The first thing you'll notice is its noise level of just 42 dB. For a full-size built-in appliance, that's remarkably quiet. As for water consumption, a standard wash cycle for 14 place settings uses 10 liters of water, and the energy consumption is only 0.83 kWh. As you can see, all in all, it represents savings worth the price of approximately $2,280.

The standard dishwashing program takes just over 3 hours, or 210 minutes to be exact. However, a shorter cycle can be selected from 13 built-in programs.

Asko D 5896 XL

This model has not only modern automatic dishwashing programs, but also turbo drying. You won't have to worry about removing wet drops; hot air will eliminate this problem. Users will also appreciate the following:

  • complete protection against leaks,
  • automatic water hardness adjustment and other indicators,
  • glass holders;
  • holders for vases and bottles;
  • delayed activation up to 24 hours;
  • interior lighting;
  • dish heating and hygiene functions.

Bosch Serie 8 SMV87TX01R

This full-size "home helper" is inferior to its predecessor in terms of features, despite costing only slightly less at around $1,930. Although it produces noise levels of around 44 dB, it uses only 9.5 liters of water to wash 14 standard place settings. This dishwasher has half as many wash modes, only 7, which, in our opinion, is more than enough to handle a wide variety of dishes.

This machine uses condensation drying only, so you'll have to wait a little longer for all the dishes to dry. Energy consumption is 1.01 kWh, which isn't that much for a full-size machine. The machine also features leak protection, indicator lights, a delayed start, and a 3-in-1 tablet drawer, but it lacks automatic water hardness adjustment.

In addition to the dish baskets, the set includes a spoon and fork basket and a glass holder. Note that the machine itself, despite its dimensions, weighs 39 kg, compared to the Asko model's 52 kg, which is quite reasonable. A door lock keeps the machine safe from children, and the additional "Hygiene" function protects you from allergies, which is also important. Overall, high-quality German assembly is evident.

Siemens iQ700 SN 678X51 TR

This is another creation of the renowned German company Siemens, the iQ700 SN 678X51 TR. This luxury dishwasher can be purchased for $1,789. Its capacity is quite large, but not impressive, about 13 place settings. It has a child safety lock and a stylish display, but that's not what makes this machine particularly special. What makes it stand out is its stylish design, despite being a fully integrated model. You won't have to worry about attaching the front to the dishwasher, since the kit includes a very stylish factory door front.

Siemens iQ700 SN 678X51 TR

The Siemens iQ700 operates as quietly as a mouse. Even when you're in the kitchen, you can't always hear it running. The control module stores eight washing programs, all of which are excellent and do their job perfectly. The model has a fairly accurate load sensor, which will tell the user when the machine can still load dirty dishes, and when it has had enough. The Night Wash mode will help make the machine even quieter if you're a light sleeper and prefer to wash dishes at night. Additional features are quite standard:

  • You can delay the start of the program for a period of 1 to 24 hours;
  • the machine is protected from water leaks of various types;
  • there is a sensor that monitors the purity of the water pumped into the system;
  • There is a special box in which you can put various tablets and capsules with a wide variety of components;
  • There is a beautiful internal lighting of the washing chamber, differently adjustable baskets, a glass holder, VarioSpeed Plus and Shine & Dry functions.

That's where we'd like to conclude our review. While the equipment we've listed isn't affordable for everyone, if you're willing to spend a little extra, choose the very best. Good luck!
