Purpose of the cipher

In most cases, the code appears on a Bosch washing machine after the tank has filled with water. You can hear the sound of fluid draining from the system. It drains into the sewer by gravity, without the need for a drain pump. Error d01 informs about “self-draining”, which occurs due to incorrect connection of the drain hose.

Thus, error code D01 doesn't indicate a manufacturing defect, but rather indicates that the washing machine is not connected to the wastewater outlet correctly. For more efficient drainage, it is recommended to install a siphon with a check valve.

This device will block not only unpleasant odors but also dirty water from entering the washing machine's drum. It is also recommended to install a safety valve in the siphon. This is necessary to prevent pressurized wastewater from backing up into the machine if the pipe becomes clogged.

When arranging drainage through a siphon or directly, it is important to take into account the distance to the outlet point. The place where the end of the drainage hose is located must be raised 50-60 cm above the floor level. When connecting to a pipe branch, the distance can be reduced to 40 cm. The drain hose can be raised to a maximum of 100 cm, otherwise the pump's capacity will not be sufficient to pump out the water.

Each user chooses the optimal connection method based on various factors. Establishing a drain through a trap or into a pipe reduces the risk of an emergency leak if the hose is accidentally touched. Simply redirecting the hose into a bathtub or sink is unsafe and unhygienic. Once the cause of the "self-draining" is eliminated, the D01 error code will disappear.
