Door error in Atlant washing machine

Door error in Atlant washing machineWhen a Door error message appears on an Atlant washing machine, it's likely that the hatch door isn't fully closed. The electronically controlled unit notifies you of the problem via a dedicated monitor. Hybrid models without a display detect errors by illuminating areas 1, 3, and 4. Let's try to figure out what the problem is and how to fix it yourself.

Initial actions

It's now clear what the door error in my washing machine means. The door isn't closing securely due to a faulty electronic unit or mechanical component. Here's a step-by-step solution:

  • we check how the hatch is fixed;
  • press the hatch tightly;
  • we evaluate the condition of the closing device;
  • we clarify the condition of the hatch fixation;
  • we check the condition of the wiring;
  • We evaluate the completeness of the functioning of the control mechanism.

Before repairing the Atlant washing machine, try restarting it several times. You can determine the correct course of action by unplugging it for 20 minutes and then turning it back on. If the message has disappeared, then the problem was a system failure, but if nothing has changed, you should continue to look for a way out.

We are repairing the locking mechanism

The UBL on the Atlant brokeThe washing machine is equipped not only with a standard door lock, but also with a more secure door latch with an electrical component. The door locking mechanism is controlled by a UBL lock, which may require repair.

Experts claim that the door lock is the culprit if the door is tightly closed but the cycle fails. The washing machine won't start the wash cycle until the door locks properly, and the display often displays the specified code.

The locking element operates using electrical impulses, which gradually expand the plates, pressing on the lever. The plates may fail, requiring replacement of the lock. For starters, we recommend:

  • check the locking mechanism with a multimeter;
  • check if there are any blockages in the hole.

Often, the cause is clogged debris that prevents the lock from locking. Cleaning is only possible after disassembling. UBL mechanismIf the display error persists, it's worth inspecting the wires between the lock and the control module. A detailed inspection can often reveal minor defects that need to be corrected by insulating them. Finally, inspect the module, measuring the resistance on the board with a multimeter. If a fault is detected, it will need to be repaired or a new one purchased.

Door mechanics

hinges on the SM doorWe've listed far from a complete list of possible causes of this unfortunate error. A variety of components must be checked for proper functionality, including:

  • The hinges are positioned sideways, as the door can become warped during unprofessional installation or over time, preventing the latch from engaging the locking hole. This can be quickly resolved by tightening the hinges or adjusting the hatch to the desired position.

It is imperative to check whether the work surface under the Atlant washing machine is perfectly flat.

  • a handle that can break, so after completely dismantling the hatch door, it will have to be replaced with a new one;
  • A tongue-shaped latch that tends to shift and release the retaining pin. This malfunction can only be corrected by completely disassembling the lock mechanism.

The guides made of plastic can also wear out significantly. If, when using the washing machine as intended, there is no characteristic click of the door closing, then it is the guide that needs to be checked and replaced.

Replacing the door locking mechanism

If you've determined that the door error is due to a mechanical malfunction, the handle or individual parts of it need to be replaced. To resolve the issue, carefully remove the door from the washing machine, removing a couple of the mounting bolts. After this, place the door on a smooth table and unscrew the bolts securing the two door parts.

If you need to return the latch to its original position, you can raise or lower the locking pin. If you completely disassemble the element, you can install the purchased handle:

  • remove the spring;
  • install the fixing element;
  • carefully screw in the pin;
  • lock the handle up.

Now it's clear what to do when the washing machine displays the "Door" code on the monitor. The owner can easily fix the problem themselves if they follow the instructions above to repair the mechanism. Good luck!

    I watched your video about the Door error. I have the same problem, except in addition to the burned-out tracks and the triac, the PWM controller also burned out. After replacing all the components and the lock, the Door error message returned. We updated the firmware, but the problem persists. The wiring is intact. I'd like to speak with you in person over the phone, if possible. Perhaps I missed something?

      Artem, I have the same porridge as Ruslan.
