Error E09 in Candy washing machine

Error E09 in Candy washing machineSome errors require a simple code reset or minor troubleshooting, but the E09 error is much more complex. Fixing the E09 error in a Candy washing machine requires a thorough repair. Otherwise, your appliance will remain "paralyzed." The good news is, you don't need to call a technician to fix the problem; you can handle it yourself.

Meaning of the code and decoding

As is customary, let's first identify the "symptoms" associated with this code. This fault code is accompanied by the following symptoms:

  • the washing machine stops washing, the drum spins in one direction for a few seconds, and then everything freezes completely, only a combination of letters and numbers remains on the display;
  • Literally immediately after starting, the motor stalls and the drum stops rotating. The code appears on the screen again;
  • The "water procedures" are completed, but at the stage of transition to spinning the washing machine stops working.

Important! Please note that not all Candy models display this error code as E09. Some units display a combination of 09, Er09, or Error9.

Since not all Candy units are equipped with electronic displays, they signal problems with a series of different signal patterns. For example, in our case, nine indicators will flash in a row. There will then be a pause, after which the nine-pulse pattern will repeat. Incidentally, which specific indicators will light up will depend on the specific model.How to determine the error code

  1. Candy Grand draws attention to error 09 through the “Intensive wash” indicators (symbol - shirt) and the countdown button until the end of the wash (in our case 90, or the start button).
  2. Candy Smart machines have the same blinking LEDs, but they are located slightly differently.
  3. In the Holiday and Aquamatic lines, the only indicator light blinks for cold water wash.

Now let's figure out what's going on inside the washing machine when it displays this error. It's all about the motor. More specifically, the stator, which should be receiving voltage for the motor to operate, isn't.

Step-by-step inspection of parts

Basically, any error can cause a simple malfunction. Try resetting it. After a few minutes, hold down the power button and unplug the power cord. Then, put everything back in place and try washing again. If nothing works, something is seriously wrong.

Alternatively, the cord or outlet itself may be faulty. Check them with a tester. While rare, this does happen. Analyze the appearance of your "home assistant." It's quite possible that some defects will surface during a visual inspection. If not, you'll need to diagnose the unit's internals.Let's start by checking the engine

  • Let's start with the engine. It's housed in a special hatch by Candy's manufacturers. Open it.
  • Hold the drive while turning the pulley. This will release the belt from the large and small pulleys.
  • Take an 8mm wrench and remove the electric motor mounts.
  • Before completely removing the engine, remove all wires. It's a good idea to somehow mark their location.
  • Inspect the motor. You'll likely see two bulky plates. These are the motor brushes; remove them.
  • Carefully inspect the wiper blades. If they show significant wear or other visible defects, they need to be replaced.
  • Perform installation in reverse order and test the unit.

After replacing the brushes, the machine sometimes makes a cracking sound during washing. This is the brushes sliding into place and rubbing against each other. The problem is not always in the brushes; for example, the control module may fail. What should you do then? You won't be able to fix this without a professional, but you can diagnose the problem yourself. Just grab a multimeter and check all the components of the control module.

Occasionally, the motor winding burns out. Repairs in this case are extremely cost-prohibitive; experts say it's cheaper to buy a new washing machine. However, it's worth noting that motor failure is extremely uncommon in Candy machines.

    I have the same error—E09. The belt just came off. I think that's the first thing that comes to mind and the most logical. We've gotten into all this trouble, and there's no mention of the belt...
