Bosch dishwasher error code E15
Dishwashers are still a luxury item. However, some people have become accustomed to this convenient and modern appliance.
If your Bosch dishwasher suddenly stops working, displaying an error code, you really don't want to go back to manual labor. So, you need to quickly figure out the cause, fix it, and get it back up and running again.
Error decoding, reasons for its occurrence
A breakdown and explanation of all the codes programmed into Bosch dishwashers is provided in the included instructions. However, it's not always clear what to do in each situation.
Error E15 informs the user that the Aqua-stop leak protection has been activated. This means water has entered the machine's sump or the float has become stuck. Water leaks can be caused by the following:
- The leak sensor is faulty.

- Clogged drainage system (filter, hose, sewer).
- Wear of pipes or poor sealing.
- There is a defect in the water sprinkler.
Error E15 is a common error in Bosch dishwashers. In most cases, you can fix it yourself; don't rush to call a professional. People who have encountered this error have written on forums that to fix the error, unplug the dishwasher and tilt it at a 45-degree angle.0Sometimes, simply moving the car around will help clear the float from sticking in the pan. Then, drain the water from the pan by tilting the car and then letting it dry. Usually, a day is enough for the car to dry thoroughly.
Of course, this is inconvenient for those whose washing machine is built into a kitchen cabinet, but on the other hand, it's better than calling a technician. After this procedure, the E15 error usually disappears, and the machine continues to operate normally. If the error reappears, a more serious problem will need to be addressed.
Important! Excessive foam in the dishwasher can cause leaks, which will trigger the Aqua-Stop system. Therefore, use only the amount of detergent recommended on the packaging.
We clean the filter, change the drain hose and pipes
A clogged filter caused by food residue on dishes can also cause the E15 error. In a dishwasher, the filter is located at the bottom. To access it, open the door, remove the dish tray, and then unscrew the lid on the bottom. Under the lid is the filter, a cylinder with a mesh screen. Rinse it thoroughly under running water.
As for the drain hose, cleaning or replacing it requires disassembling the machine. Let's describe this process using the Bosch SRS45 dishwasher as an example. What do you need to do?
- First, unplug the machine, remove the filter and prepare a place where you can easily place it.
- Now take a screwdriver and unscrew the left and right case covers.
- Turn the machine over and place it upside down.
- Next, using a star screwdriver, unscrew the front panel with legs; the bolts holding it are located on the left and right sides of the machine.
- Now unscrew the metal strip under the panel; there are a couple more screws under it that also need to be unscrewed.
- Next, unscrew the bolts from the back of the machine.
- Remove the rubber bands holding the pump to the bottom of the machine.
- Remove the two plastic plugs located on the sides of the machine.
- Detach the door holder.
- Unscrew the rope from the spring and now carefully remove the lower part of the case.
Now that the machine is disassembled, access to the internal components is ensured. Locate the end of the drain hose attached to the pump. Using pliers, carefully remove the hose from the pump. Inspect the hose for defects and cracks. If any are present, purchase a new one. Also purchase a clamp to attach it to the pump along with the hose. Reassemble the machine in reverse order.
After disassembling the car as described above, you can immediately inspect all the hoses. They may be loose. What should you do? Buy new clamps and install them on the hoses. If any of the hoses are damaged, buy the original part and replace it.
We are replacing the leak sensor and sprinkler
Cases of a leak sensor and sprinkler malfunction that cause the E15 error are extremely rare. If the sensor is faulty, it may trigger even when there's no water in the tray, or fail to trigger even when there is. Therefore, it's essential to replace it. The sensor is located on a plastic cup on the bottom of the machine. Replacing it is easy; the main thing is to buy a part that's compatible with the Bosch dishwasher model you need.
Replacing a faulty sprinkler doesn't take much time; anyone can do it.
The dishwasher has two replaceable spray arms, so they're readily available in stores. To replace the lower spray arm, remove the draining board, press the spray arm holder with a screwdriver, pull it out, and insert the new one until it clicks into place. The upper spray arm is replaced in the same way, but it's located on top of the draining board.
So, the E15 error in a Bosch dishwasher isn't so serious that you need to call a technician. In most cases, you can fix it yourself without disassembling the dishwasher itself.

Cool! Thanks!
Error E15, Aquastop activation, is a repair with seal restoration, but, damn, there's no side-to-side rocking, water is leaking from the tank to the bottom of the machine, only disassembly and sealing.
It probably happens that the sensor simply sticks.
That's exactly what happened in my case. Water was dripping drop by drop into the bottom tray. Without a sensor, everything worked fine with a bunch of napkins under the leak. All that was left was to find the source of the leak and seal it. 🙂 Does anyone know what to do and how?
Do I need to disassemble the entire machine to seal it?
Yeah, right—I just had a piece of the film from the packaging get stuck in the filter—it's so thin and transparent, you couldn't see it. And it blocked the water flow. As soon as I pulled it out, everything was fine. If I'd tried to take it all apart, it would have been a waste!
I decided to experiment: I poured some liquid dishwashing detergent into the dispenser. The machine immediately filled with foam and displayed an E15 error. I had to hand-wash the foam and dry it. No need for a professional.
My wife poured some Fairy. The dishwasher started yelling. E15 says. What should I do?
I never write about such articles, but here - thank you!
My filter also clogged up, and water started dripping through the door seal into the tray. I cleaned the filter, unscrewed it, and drained the tray. It was working again within a minute.
Let me just say this: the video is too long and at times boring. But it's very useful!
That helped too. Thanks!
I have an assembly defect... the water supply hose behind the cover was bent. I straightened the bend and wrapped it with electrical tape to make it more rigid. Everything works :)
How to drain water from a barrel completely?
This is the second time I've had this problem. I wipe everything dry and leave the door open overnight. In the morning, everything starts working normally.
I started taking it apart and there's a lot of water in the container on the left side. Is this normal? What should I do?
The dishwasher won't absorb excess water! Salt doesn't wash away grease, it softens the water! And you don't need to refill it every six months!
