Neff dishwasher error E15

Error E15 NeffNeff dishwashers have a self-diagnostic system very similar to Bosch dishwashers, and this is not surprising. Many Neff components and electronic software are taken from Bosch dishwashers, so the two machines are very similar. Well, that's not the topic of today's article; it's about something completely different: the E15 error code in a Neff dishwasher. We'll learn what this code is, what causes it, and how to clear it. Let's get started.

What does this code mean?

Let's be honest, this error is far from serious. You can fix it yourself without calling in a service center, but you'll have to roll up your sleeves. Error E15 appears if the leak protection sensor in the Neff dishwasher has been triggered. Incidentally, a similar code with the same explanation is found on other dishwashers. If you're interested, check out the article. Siemens dishwasher error E15, you will find a lot in common with the Neff machine.

  1. This sensor is located in the pan and is a float on a wire, which is connected to a contact.
  2. If water begins to flow into the tray, the float rises and closes a contact, which, when closed, sends an alarm signal to the control module.

The mechanism is simple, but it will work smoothly until you remove the water from the tray.

  1. The control module completely blocks the flow of water into the dishwasher, stops its operation and displays a flashing E15 code on the display.

Why is water leaking into the tray? One of the hoses could be leaking, or water could be leaking from the wash chamber into the tray because the lower seal has become loose. These are all possible causes, but not in our case. Let's explain why. If water leaks into the tray due to an internal leak, the E15 error will most likely be preceded by another system error. If we only have the E15 code, we can say with 98% certainty that the culprit is a clogged waste filter, which is preventing water from escaping and forcing it past the rubber seals into the tray.

How to eliminate the cause of its appearance?

What should I do to restore normal water flow and stop it from leaking into the tray? First, clean the debris filter, as this is where the most severe and annoying blockages occur, potentially paralyzing the entire Neff dishwasher. Here's what to do.

  1. Let's turn off the dishwasher completely, disconnect all the hoses and move it to the middle of the room.Aquastop in Neff dishwashers
  2. Place as many absorbent rags as possible along the right wall of the cabinet and place a bucket for washing the floor nearby.
  3. Tilt the machine firmly onto its right side and wait until the water has completely drained from the tray.
  4. If there is a lot of water, it is advisable to place a basin or some other more convenient container underneath.
  5. After draining the water, we place the dishwasher near a radiator or in another warm place so that its tray dries.
  6. At the same time, open the machine door and roll out the lower basket to put it aside.
  7. Locate the debris filter at the bottom of the washing chamber, unscrew it, and thoroughly clean it. Also clean the metal mesh located next to the filter.
  8. Replace the filter and, after the machine has dried, connect it and test it. The error should disappear.

A clogged debris filter may actually worsen the problem with the O-rings. Typically, when excess pressure builds up due to a clogged dishwasher system, the O-ring in the module that houses the debris filter is the first to fail. The sealing ring can be accessed by unscrewing the right side panel of the Neff dishwasher. It would be more convenient to do this through the pan, but I really don’t want to remove it because of such a small thing as a seal.

Where can I find the O-ring?

A worn sealing ring is easily visible; it should be removed and replaced with a new one. To clear your conscience, you can also inspect the hoses. It's quite possible that one of them has cracked and is leaking. Perhaps one of the clamps has come loose. Basically, once you've removed the side panel, inspect all the parts you can reach. This won't hurt, and it will also give you a better understanding of the dishwasher's operation. If you can't fix the problem yourself, call a professional for help.

So, we've covered the E15 error that pops up on your Neff dishwasher in more or less detail. If you have any questions, please feel free to leave a comment. We'll be sure to review them and provide answers. Good luck!

Hello. Is it possible to drain the water from the dishwasher's tray without disconnecting the water supply and drain?
