Error E17 in a Bosch washing machine
If your Bosch washing machine refuses to start any cycle, displaying error code E17, you've come to the right place. We'll explain in detail what caused this problem and, most importantly, how to fix it without damaging the appliance.
Explanation and reasons
Error E17 literally means there's no water supply to the drum, preventing the wash cycle from starting. On some washing machine models, this error code corresponds to F17, as intended by the manufacturer.
On washing machines without a display, this error appears as two illuminated indicators: spin at 1000 rpm and rinse.
Simply deciphering this code is not enough; it is necessary to establish the reasons that caused its appearance, of which there are several:
- failure of the filling valve;
- pressure switch malfunction;
- problems with the control module;
- the wiring between the listed parts is broken.
These elements of the washing machine should be checked in the order we have listed them. The likelihood of valve failure when this code appears is highest. However, before any planned renovation, it's worth checking whether there's water in the water supply at all, or whether the water supply valve where the inlet hose connects to the water supply is simply turned off. Of course, these are trivial things, but still...
Fill valve or pressure switch
Once you've verified there's water in the water supply, begin checking the components step by step. Unplug the machine, turn off the water supply, and unscrew the inlet hose. Behind it, you'll see the inlet valve filter mesh. It may be clogged with small particles; rinse it under running water and replace it. Next, check the valve itself. To do this:
- remove the top cover on the washing machine;
- take a multimeter and measure the resistance of the valve coil;
- At the same time, check the contacts of the valve wires and the wires themselves.

If the part breaks, repairing it is pointless; you'll need to purchase a new one and install it in its place. To do this, you'll need to disconnect all the tubes secured with clamps, as well as the wires.
When purchasing a new fill valve, also buy new clamps for connecting the pipes.
If the E17 error in your Bosch washing machine isn't caused by the inlet valve, then without closing the lid, proceed to checking the water level sensor. It's located opposite the inlet valve in the right corner. Inspect the tube leading to it, check the contacts of the connected wires, and then the pressure switch itself. If faulty, this part is also replaced, not repaired.
Module repair
Finally, in the most extreme case, it's worth addressing the control module. Washing machines of this brand are equipped with control modules that are easily repaired. According to technicians, they are easier to repair than, for example, modules from Electrolux carsFor example, the Bosch MAXX WFL 1200 washing machine is equipped with a universal module marked SIEMENS 5WK51307 03.
Below is a diagram of this module, where we've marked the two triacs responsible for the inlet valve. In addition to checking the functionality of these components, it's also worth checking the water level sensor connections. However, it's best to entrust module repair to a specialist, especially if you're unfamiliar with a multimeter, let alone complex electronics. The module for a Bosch washing machine is a fairly expensive part, so don't damage it.

Therefore, a Bosch washing machine's water-fill error can be caused by a variety of reasons, from user inattention to a faulty electronic module. This determines whether you can fix the problem yourself. Good luck!

How to reset error E17 on BOSCH SERIE6 3D WASHINQ.
Another possible cause could be the washing machine's water supply, or more specifically, a clogged mesh filter. Clean it and that's it!
Everything works, but I still get an error. They say I need to reset it, but how?
