Error E2 on a Kuppersberg dishwasher

Error E2 on a Kuppersberg dishwasherDespite the vast number of possible malfunctions, dishwasher users most often encounter the same set of error codes. For example, error E2 appears most frequently when using the Kuppersberg "home helper." It alerts the user to a clear limitation of the water level in the system, which can be caused by both blockages and damage to key components. Let's take a closer look at the problem and its solution at home.

Cleaning the main filter system

Troubleshooting an error code is always easier if you start with the most basic causes of the malfunction. This way, you can quickly find the problem without wasting time disassembling the appliance and examining hard-to-reach parts. Therefore, first, check the cleaning filter, which is located at the bottom of the Kuppersberg dishwasher. This unit is located near the spray arm; its cover is located directly under the lower dish rack.

Remove all baskets from the washing chamber beforehand to make your work easier.

The waste filter often becomes clogged with food debris and other foreign objects that may have been left on dirty dishes before they were loaded into the dishwasher. Therefore, the filter element should be cleaned at least once a week to prevent mold and odors from forming in the dishwasher. Additionally, a clogged filter often prevents water from draining after washing. What should I do to clean the filter element?

  • Disconnect the equipment from all communications.
  • Open the door.
  • Remove all water from the wash chamber.
  • Use a rag or sponge to remove any debris that may have collected around the dust filter.
  • Remove the dust filter cover.Clean your dishwasher filter regularly
  • Wash all parts of the filter element with a stiff brush, or with a citric acid solution if the dirt cannot be removed.
  • Wait until the filter dries, but do not rush to put it back in place, because first you need to clean the drain hole with the mesh filter.
  • Remove all debris and dirt from the drain surface.Unscrew the screws near the dishwasher filter
  • Remove the parts from the drain and temporarily seal the hole with tape to prevent foreign objects from getting into it.
  • Use a sponge or brush to clean the components.

Handle the part carefully to avoid stretching or deforming the rubber seal.

If you can't remove the stains yourself, you can still use a citric acid solution or a solution of table vinegar.

Clogged drain hose

The annoying E2 error in a Kuppersberg dishwasher can also be caused by the drain hose. If you're lucky, you can simply straighten the hose so the plug inside dislodges and goes down the drain, but this rarely happens, so you'll have to remove the hose and clean it. What can you do to accomplish this?

  • Disconnect your "home assistant" from all communications.
  • Loosen the clamp to remove the hose from the sink fitting or tee faucet.
  • Move the dishwasher to the center of the room to ensure free access to all sides of the cabinet.the drain hose is kinked
  • Place rags or unnecessary towels under the machine, and then lay the device on its side.
  • Disconnect the filling hose from the Kuppersberg dishwasher, having first loosened the clamp.
  • Rinse the hose thoroughly with a strong stream of running water, or soak the hose in a basin with a citric acid solution if the plug is stubborn.

After these steps, all that's left to do is check if the error code has cleared. To do this, run an empty cycle without any dishes and carefully monitor the machine's operation. If the E2 error persists, proceed to the next step.

Testing and replacing the water level sensor

If the cause of the malfunction is not a clogged filter or a blocked hose, you will have to partially disassemble the Kuppersberg dishwasher to check the water level sensor. If the machine is still under warranty, it is better to entrust it to a service center, which will carry out repairs free of charge. If the warranty has expired, then we proceed to partial disassembly.

  • Disconnect the machine from the power supply and water supply.
  • Open the door of the washing chamber.
  • Remove all baskets from the bin.
  • Remove the debris filter and then use a sponge or cloth to remove any liquid from its seat.
  • Place the machine on its back side.remove the latches and take out the dishwasher tray
  • Remove the fasteners from the tray, and then remove the bottom of the dishwasher.
  • Disconnect all wires from the float sensor, then remove the bolt that holds the part in place.
  • Find the water level sensor, which looks like a plastic box with a tube running to it.
  • Disconnect the hose from the sensor using pliers.

Partial disassembly of the Kuppersberg dishwasher is complete, all that remains is to diagnose the pressure switch. Start with the mechanics: blow into the nozzle and listen for sounds. If you hear distinct clicks, the pressure switch and the pressure switch itself are fine.dishwasher pressure switch

Checking the electronics is even easier—use a standard multimeter. Switch the tester to ohmmeter mode, connect its probes to the water level sensor contacts, and examine the readings. If the readings approach zero, the pressure switch does not need replacing.

Additionally, you should inspect the pressure bleed tube, which may be clogged. If so, simply cleaning the tube will suffice. If you detect a fault at any stage of the component inspection, it should be replaced with a new part, as repairing the unit is pointless.

After purchasing a new pressure switch for your Kuppersberg "home helper," install the part according to our instructions in reverse order. Be sure to test the machine's functionality after replacing the part to ensure the E2 error has resolved.

Bad drainage is to blame

Finally, a malfunctioning Kuppersberg dishwasher may be caused by a faulty drain pump. This unit pumps waste liquid directly into the drain after each cycle. If a part fails, for example, burns out or becomes clogged, then water from the washing chamber will not be able to enter the sewer.

To diagnose the pump, you'll need to remove it from the housing using similar instructions as above. The only difference is that repair technicians recommend removing the side panel rather than the tray, as this allows easier access to the drain pump.impeller damper

Once you have free access to the pump, disconnect all wires and hoses from it, then remove it. Check the impeller's operation; its blades should rotate freely. Carefully examine the impeller, as it can sometimes become clogged with debris, such as broken dishes. Carefully remove these debris to resolve the E2 error.

Before disconnecting any wires, be sure to take photos of the correct wiring connections so that you have a reference point at hand later.

If the blades aren't blocked or broken, the pump itself needs to be checked. To do this, we'll again need a multimeter set to resistance measurement mode. Normal pump resistance is around 200 ohms, so if the tester's readings deviate from the norm, you'll need to buy a new pump.Let's check the pump with a multimeter

Take the faulty component to the store as a reference to ensure you choose the right part for your Kuppersberg dishwasher. Installation follows our instructions in reverse order. Don't forget to test your dishwasher after replacement.

That's crazy! Why even need it if you have to do so much with the PPM? And if the machine is built-in, how am I supposed to move it to the center of the room, even though it should usually be in the kitchen anyway?
