Error E29 in a Bosch washing machine

Error E29 in a Bosch washing machineWashing machine displays often display various error codes. This typically means there's a problem inside the appliance, and until it's resolved, the machine is unlikely to function normally. Error E29 on a Bosch washing machine may indicate a problem with the inlet valve. What should you do in this situation?

What to check first?

Generally, error E29 indicates that the sensor isn't detecting the unit filling with water, or that it's filling too slowly. Therefore, it's important to start by checking the parts responsible for filling with water.

Check the inlet hose for proper operation. It's possible there's a kink or kink blocking water from entering the tank. Also, make sure the hose is positioned at least 50 cm above the floor (the height of the washing machine's tank).There may be no water in the tap.

The problem could also be due to insufficient water pressure. To check, disconnect the hose and place it in the bathtub or sink. If the pressure is truly low, try turning the inlet valve. If there's no change, contact a professional.

The E29 error code isn't always related to water. It could be that the hatch door doesn't latch completely, the lock doesn't engage properly, or it's displaced, broken, etc. If the locking mechanism fails, the same thing can happen.

Please note! The machine is programmed to start washing only when the drum is completely sealed. Otherwise, it will display an error code. Also inspect the hinges and the cuff, and try opening and closing the door again. The door lock can be tested using a tester.

Water pressure can sometimes be restricted by a dirty filter, which is a fine mesh screen between the inlet valve and the pressure hose. When debris and impurities accumulate, a blockage forms, preventing water from flowing. To clean the filter, remove the hose and remove the mesh screen with pliers. This can sometimes solve the problem. After completing all these steps, try running the wash cycle again.

We find and fix the problem

If all the above troubleshooting methods fail, it's highly likely that your Bosch washing machine will require repair or replacement. The following components are at risk:

  • inlet valve;
  • pressure switch;
  • water control sensor.

The first suspect is the inlet valve. To find it, you need to remove the top panel of the washing machine. Checking whether the element is working is simple. Take a tester and measure the resistance of the coil. If it's faulty, buy a new one and replace it. However, experts recommend replacing the entire valve to avoid further problems with this part.the pressure switch needs to be checked

If the pressure switch is broken, unfortunately, it can't be repaired. You'll have to buy a new one and call a technician for installation. However, don't despair; the pressure switch may just be clogged. No further disassembly is required; the part is also located at the top of the Bosch machine. Disconnect the tube from the pressure switch and rinse it thoroughly with running water. Replace it and see if the problem persists. error codeIf not, then you are dealing with a breakdown.

Caution! When inspecting your washing machine yourself, remember safety precautions and unplug the unit before beginning any work.

Another possible cause is a failure in the electronic module system, namely in the water intake sensor. If a breakdown occurs, the sensor simply does not understand that the tank is full and does not send the corresponding signal to the machine to start washing.It's worth mentioning right away that problems with the car's "brains" are quite difficult to fix, especially on your own. It's easier, and perhaps even cheaper, to buy a new unit, but that's up to each individual to decide. To check the electronic module, test all the components with a multimeter that displays voltage. If the problem isn't related to the complete failure of a component, an experienced mechanic can easily help.
