Error E35 in a Bosch washing machine

Error E35 in a Bosch washing machineDuring the wash cycle, automatic washing machines lock the door to prevent water leakage. Once the wash cycle is complete, the machine beeps to indicate the end of the process. What should I do if the E35 error occurs on my Bosch washing machine and the door cannot be opened? What causes the malfunction, and what does this error code mean?

Is there any point in waiting for the unlock?

Bosch washing machines are designed in such a way that the locking mechanism is controlled not only by the mechanism itself, but also by the electronic unit. Simply put, the control module must issue a command to unlock the door, otherwise it will not be possible to open it. There is no point in waiting, because the problem will not go away on its own.

Unplugging the washing machine won't help either. In other machines, the door may open after the plate cools, but not in the Bosch. You'll have to resort to other, more effective methods.

The laundry needs to be taken out.

The E35 error code prevents you from continuing the wash cycle. Most often, the cycle is not completed, and water remains in the drum, which must be drained. Only then can you remove the laundry. First, remove the dirty water from the machine using the waste filter:special lever for emergency release

  • open the washing machine hatch, it is located at the bottom;
  • unscrew the filter cap;
  • Collect all the water that comes out of the washing machine.

Important! Place dry rags around the drain and place containers on them to collect the liquid.

There's a special door release lever next to the dust filter. Simply pull it, and the door will open. If your washing machine doesn't have this feature, you'll have to do it differently.

Unplug the washing machine and remove the top cover. To do this, first unscrew the bolts. Then, reach into the door locking mechanism and press the special locking element, sliding it out of place. After this, the washing machine should open.

Let's take on UBL

What to do next? You need to check the sunroof locking device, identify the cause of the malfunction, and replace it if necessary. Most often, this is the component that fails and causes the E35 error. Here's what to do:

  • unplug the washing machine;
  • open the hatch using the methods described above;
  • bend the cuff back, then loosen the latch and remove the outer clamp;
  • There is a hatch locking device behind the rubber band, unscrew the bolts holding it;
  • remove the part.extract and check the UBL

Next, you need to check the locking device for possible malfunctions. You'll need a multimeter and a lock schematic to diagnose the condition of the heating element. The measuring instrument is switched to resistance measurement mode.

Then, its probes are applied to the neutral and live contacts of the device being tested. If a three-digit number appears on the screen, the blocker is working properly. Next, apply the probes to the common and neutral contacts. If a 0 or 1 appears, there is a malfunction and repair is required.

Please note: If the door lock breaks, you will need to replace the washing machine door lock.

To install the new part, connect the wires to it. Then, slide it behind the housing wall and insert it into the designated hole. Tighten the bolts, straighten the cuff, and replace the clamp.

If diagnostics of the immobilizer fail to identify the fault, the E35 error code may be caused by a malfunction in the vehicle's electronics. However, you shouldn't attempt repairs yourself; it's best to entrust this work to technicians. Only a professional with specialized knowledge and skills can repair the electronics.

    Got off easy. Drained the water, opened the door, and started the machine.
