If you see the E41 error code on your Electrolux washing machine along with "Err," don't immediately blame the control board. This code often indicates a problem with the door lock, which is much cheaper than replacing the control module. However, before making a diagnosis and prescribing a treatment, it's worth running a comprehensive diagnostic of the washing machine. Detailed instructions are below.

Problems with the hatch lock

The system often displays error code E41, detecting a problem with the hatch lock. Visually, the door closes and latches without issue, but the seal is still broken, and the hatch lock does not engage. The situation cannot be resolved by pressing harder – it is necessary to check the condition of the unit contacts with a multimeter.

Error code E41 on Electrolux washing machines most often indicates a faulty door locking device.

You'll need a working multimeter with an extended range and a wiring diagram for the door locking system on your model. The latter is important, as each Electrolux washing machine has a unique locking mechanism. Having a visual example makes it easier to disconnect the connector and identify the pin assignments. Here's what to do next.

1. We set the tester to the resistance measurement mode.
2. We connect one probe to the neutral contact of the UBL, and the second to the phase.
3. We evaluate the number displayed on the display. If the multimeter shows a three-digit number, the locking mechanism is fine.

• pry up the latches with a flat-head screwdriver;
• disassemble the panel housing and remove the control board.

When removing the control board from the Electrolux washing machine, you should secure all disconnected wires to the chamber to avoid mixing up the connections during reassembly.
