Electrolux washing machine EHO error

If the EHO error appears on the display when starting up your Electrolux washing machine, This primarily indicates a problem with the power supply to the unit. Branded appliances are sensitive to power surges or power supply failures. Restart the washing machine. If the error code remains, the problem needs to be addressed.

Why did this happen?

The Electrolux washing machine manual doesn't describe this error code, so what should you do when your washing machine freezes with this signal? The cause of the malfunction will need to be investigated first:

• faulty sockets, plugs or power surges.
• The external power cord of the machine itself is pinched or short-circuited.
• short-circuit the wires inside the unit.
• The interference filter is faulty.
• The electronic module is broken.

Diagnostics should begin with the simplest media, gradually eliminating the causes of the Electrolux malfunction.

Let's look at the conductors and contacts

First, check the socket. It may be old or poorly installed. The first sign of a problem is the socket heating up when you turn on devices. If overheating isn't observed, try plugging another device into the socket. If that doesn't work either, the wiring is faulty. Check the socket with a multimeter.

Important! Do not use an extension cord for testing. It may cause a short circuit and fire.

If the wiring is in good condition, your next step is to reset the washing machine.

1. Unplug the machine and wait 3 – 40 seconds.
2. Reconnect the device to the network.
3. Select a washing program.

If the error code appears on the display again, diagnose the power strip (PS). Its job is to smooth out voltage fluctuations to prevent damage to the machine's expensive microcircuits. The PS is a barrel-shaped component located at the input of the machine's electrical circuit, behind the power cord.

To access the unit, you need to remove the washing machine cover. To do this, unscrew the two screws in the right and left corners of the top panel, then use both palms to push the cover toward you and lift it up. Disconnect the FSP from the wiring contacts and remove it from the housing.

To test a surge protector with a multimeter in continuity mode, measure the resistance between the contacts in pairs. If the reading is 0 or 1, the component is burned out and must be replaced. It is not possible to fix it yourself.

To ensure proper operation of the washing machine, only original parts must be installed.

If the readings are 600–700 kOhm, the surge protector is operational. Therefore, continue troubleshooting and check the filter's capacitance. The values ​​should match the ratings on the case and be approximately 0.5–0.7 μF.

Electronic module

The next problem could be a faulty electronic board. This complex electronic component is responsible for the operation of all the Electrolux electronic components. Only a specialist can fully diagnose it. However, a simple malfunction can be detected independently. Burn marks, oxidation, and damage can be detected visually. To remove the component, follow these steps:

• disconnect the machine from the power supply;
• turn off the water supply;
• remove the top cover;
• unscrew the screws at the back, which are located next to the niche from the cuvette;
• press the central latch and pull out the powder tray;
• unscrew the 4 screws on the end around the perimeter of the electronic module (under the top cover of the washing machine);
• lift up and unfasten the block latches;
• disassemble the panel housing and carefully remove the board.

To properly reinstall the part, take photos of the wiring and connectors. Carefully inspect the panel, referring to the diagram. A picture of the original Electrolux electronic module can be found online.

If you have basic electronics knowledge, you can use a multimeter to determine whether resistors, thyristors, relays, or the processor itself have burned out. Follow the washing machine's control diagram for diagnostics. If no external defects are detected, contact an authorized Electrolux washing machine service center.
