Most modern washing machines display an error code when the cycle stops. For example, error code F23 in a Bosch washing machine can appear at any stage of the cycle. Decoding the code

Error code F23 in a washing machine informs the user that the Aquastop leak protection system has been activated. This means water has entered the machine's tray. The following are possible causes:

• there was a rupture in the drain or inlet hose;
• the powder receptacle is not installed correctly;
• The Aquastop sensor is faulty, but it does not necessarily mean that there is water in the pan.

On a Bosch washing machine without a display, this error code is displayed in the form of flashing lights, namely spin speeds of 1000, 800 and 600, plus a rinse indicator.

Fixing a water leak

If this error occurs, the first thing you need to do is disconnect the washing machine from the power supply and turn off the water supply tap. If the electrical system in your washing machine is faulty and electricity is leaking into the body, you could get an electric shock. After this, begin to check for possible water leaks one by one.
