Electrolux dishwasher error code i10

Electrolux i10 errorAt the very beginning of the program, within the first 10 minutes, an error may occur, and the i10 error message may appear on the display of your Electrolux dishwasher. In addition to the error code, the light next to the "End" message may also flash, although this may not happen. What does this error code indicate? How can you tell what's wrong with your dishwasher? How can you fix it cost-effectively? There are many questions, and we'll try to answer them.

Let's get to the bottom of the reasons

Before fixing the problem yourself, you need to find it. And to find it, you need to decipher the error code that appeared so inopportunely on the display, paralyzing the dishwasher. The i10 code indicates that for some reason, the dishwasher isn't filling with water, or more precisely, the pressure switch isn't registering the required water level within the specified time. Why does this happen?

  1. The trash filter is badly clogged.
  2. The inlet hose filter is clogged with dirt.
  3. There is no water in the water supply or the tap is simply turned off.

    There's no more commonplace cause for the i10 error than a closed tap. However, service center technicians often visit customers and find that the user forgot to open the tee tap before starting the machine.

  4. The inlet hose is pinched.
  5. The fill valve does not open well.

Problems with the pump also cannot be completely ruled out, but in this case 99% will appear Electrolux dishwasher error code i20If it's an i10 display, you should first check the list above. And you should start with the simplest thing that doesn't require disassembling the machine: clogs.

We're fixing the problem

First, you'll have to check the dirtiest spot in your Electrolux dishwasher—the dirt filter. To do this, open the dishwasher door, remove the lower rack, then remove the lower spray arm and unscrew the dirt filter. In addition to the filter itself, you need to remove the grate that is located nearby. We wash all these parts with hot water.

cleaning the trash filter

Often, after washing greasy dishes, a film of grease forms on the waste filter and grate. This grease can simply prevent water from draining, with all the ensuing consequences. It's important to thoroughly clean the dishes before placing them in the wash baskets. Next, check the inlet hose. If it's not kinked and water is flowing, you need to:

  • turn off the water;
  • unscrew the inlet hose;
  • find a flow filter at the base of the hose;
  • take out its mesh and clean it;
  • If there is another flow filter on the tee tap, it should also be cleaned.

fill valve

The inlet valve is checked last. To remove it, you'll need to remove the side panel of the dishwasher by unscrewing several screws around the perimeter. It's possible to remove this part by removing the tray, but that would require more disassembly and take longer.

After unscrewing the side panel, carefully access the valve, unscrew it, and then remove it, making sure to disconnect the power wires. Check to see if the valve is clogged with debris. If so, clear it out so it opens and closes freely. Use a multimeter to test the resistance of the inlet valve. If the valve is faulty, replace it with a new one and test the dishwasher.

So, what should you do if your Electrolux dishwasher suddenly stops working and displays the i10 error code? First, you need to understand what the error code means, and then systematically check all possible faults using the list above. Particular attention should be paid to blockages, since they are the cause of the i10 code in the vast majority of cases. Be careful, and you'll likely be able to fix your "home assistant" even without a professional. Good luck!

    How is the trash filter related to filling?

    I agree with the previous comment. i10 water supply error.

  3. Gravatar Alexey Alexey:

    In 90% of cases, the i10 is clogged with rust due to a microfilter at the inlet. The solution is to remove it with pliers and clean it with a toothbrush (tapping the bristles into the holes to dislodge any rust or sand particles).

    I had a different issue. The fill valve. When the error code 1 was flashing, I took it apart and blew into the hose that goes to the fill valve. It worked after two weeks, then the same thing happened again. I'll look into it now...

    What should I do if everything described above has already been done? The machine fills with water, drains it, and then returns error 10.
