Error code i30 on an AEG dishwasher
Modern AEG dishwashers rarely bother users, delivering crystal-clear dishes after every cycle. However, the i30 error is a nuisance that almost every housewife has experienced at least once. Fortunately, it can sometimes be resolved at home, without calling a service technician. We'll explain how to do it at home.
What happened to the car?
Error code i30 indicates that the Aquastop leak protection system has been activated. In rare cases, it may trigger spontaneously, but most often it actually prevents leakage, protecting the floors of the owner of the AEG "home assistant".
The first thing you should do if the i30 error appears is to unplug the appliance to protect yourself from electric shock. Then, disconnect the machine from the water supply and sewer lines to ensure easy removal and access.
Turn your AEG dishwasher over to inspect the drip tray. If you find liquid there, the leak protection system has indeed been activated. If there's no liquid, look for the problem in the inlet hose. If the leak protection system has been activated there, the hose needs to be replaced.
Fixing this problem is simple: simply turn off the water supply, remove the aquastop hose, and install a new one. If your dishwasher has an electromagnetic system, you'll also need to first connect a wire to the leak-monitoring sensor. This wire runs from the base of the sensor, which is installed near the appliance's inlet valve.
What should you do if the Aquastop system activates while the bottom tray of your AEG dishwasher is full of water? In this case, the easiest way is to call a repair technician to determine the exact cause of the i30 error.
What to do if there is water in the tray?
Once you've located the overflowing tray, you first need to remove all the water. To do this, cover the floors with rags or old towels, then tilt the machine to drain the liquid. Immediately afterward, you need to begin searching for and locating the leak. This is very difficult to do without removing the tray, so you'll need to disassemble your "home helper," examining its key components along the way. What should you do?
- Unscrew the screws from the back of the dishwasher to remove the cover. Slide it back and set it aside.
- Remove the decorative bottom panel, which is secured with latches. It's easiest to remove them with a flat-head screwdriver, after tilting the housing back slightly and slightly opening the wash chamber door to keep it out of the way.
- Remove the screws from the back of the AEG dishwasher that hold the side panels in place. These are located not only at the back of the dishwasher, but also at the top and on the sides under the decorative panel.

- Now you can remove the side walls along with the soundproofing material.
- Turn the machine upside down, remembering to first wipe away all liquid inside the washing chamber with a dry cloth, and also remove all the baskets, wash arms, and filters from it.
- Unscrew the bottom panel of the unit, which hides the tray and all the key elements of the AEG dishwasher.

- Remove the plastic tray element, which is secured with screws installed around the entire perimeter of the tray. It hides the dishwasher components we need, so it's essential to remove it.
- Unclip the clips securing the electric motor and the fill valve – this also needs to be done in order to remove the plastic part of the tray.
Keep in mind that, depending on your AEG dishwasher model, there may be another hidden latch in the center of the tray that will prevent the element from being removed. The easiest way to remove it is with a flat-head screwdriver.
- Remove the drain hose held in place by another plastic clip.
- Disconnect the power terminals.
- The final step is to remove and put away the tray.
While disassembling the equipment, you should have discovered the leaking element and started to eliminate the cause of the leak. If the leak is not found, then try to examine again all the plastic tanks, hose joints, and pipes. If you still can't find the problematic element, contact a repair service that will help you detect the leak and reset the i30 error.
