LE error in Daewoo washing machine
The internet is full of information on decoding error codes for washing machines like Bosch or Zanussi, but lesser-known brands are covered much less frequently. This fate befell Daewoo washing machines, for example, although they aren't as common, they still occasionally display error codes and require repair. The LE error is considered particularly serious, so any Daewoo owner should be aware of this code in advance.
Let's decipher this designation
In this case, it's convenient that all Daewoo models have virtually the same diagnostic system. This means you won't have to search for a specific unit's diagnostic code.
As for the LE error, the causes are directly related to problems with the door. Check that it's sealed properly. To do this, press firmly and firmly on the door; you can even use your knee, but don't overdo it. If the code disappears from the display after this, and the wash cycle starts, the locking mechanism is malfunctioning. Replace it or clean it. If pressing the door doesn't work, the problem is most likely with the door lock. The door closes, but to the machine's "brains," it actually remains open, preventing the wash cycle from starting..
The result is an LE error. As for DIY repairs, with UBLs, it's a waste of time. It's easier to buy a new part and install it.
We dismantle the UBL
Anyone can remove a UBL, even without any special skills. The main thing is to proceed carefully to avoid damaging anything and to follow the instructions carefully:
- Turn off the water supply to the washing machine and disconnect the appliance from the power supply.
- Open the hatch door as far as it will go.
- Now it's the cuff's turn. To prevent it from interfering with access to the UBL, it needs to be folded back.
The clamp is in the way. Release the special latches (plastic clamps have them) or pry it out with a sharp object (if using a metal clamp). Now remove the cuff.
After this, you can work on the lock recess. Take a screwdriver and remove the fasteners. You'll immediately see that the door lock is held in place by just a few pins, which you need to disconnect, making a note of where each one was. All that's left to do is carefully reach behind the front panel of the case and remove the device. This is where you can begin troubleshooting and troubleshooting.
We will check and replace the part.
Find a wiring diagram for the door lock system of a Daewoo washing machine somewhere. It will help you easily navigate and test the device with a tester or multimeter. What should you do now?
First, locate the neutral and live contacts on the component. Now, set the tester to resistance measurement mode and connect its probes to the contacts indicated above. A three-digit number should appear on the display.

Let's move on. Leave the neutral contact unchanged, and move the probe from the phase contact to the ground contact. Now look at the display. If you see the numbers 1 or 0, the door lock needs to be replaced, as internal faults are difficult to repair. Repairing it will be more expensive than buying a new one. When you go to the store to buy a new door lock, take the old one with you to ensure you get the right part and don't waste money.
