Refresh mode in the dryer

Refresh mode in the dryerHome appliances are evolving rapidly, so while older dryers offered only a few drying options with varying intensities, newer units now boast a double-digit number of functions. Therefore, navigating modern "home assistants" and their trendy programs isn't always easy. For example, users often struggle to understand the purpose of the "Refresh" function on their dryer. Let's take a closer look at this and many other useful features.

Characteristics of the refresh algorithm

Not every dryer has a separate "Refresh" mode, but this does not mean that household appliances do not have a similar refreshing function. It can be activated by a certain combination of buttons or a separate option in the menu. The operating principle does not change depending on the activation type.

This convenient program is perfect for quickly refreshing items that haven't been used for a long time, such as a winter coat. This cycle is also useful when clothes have developed an odor that needs to be removed. This function typically takes between 20 and 150 minutes, depending solely on the model and brand of your "home assistant."refreshing laundry in the dryer

Dryers often combine a "Refresh" cycle with a steam function, achieving a double effect. This method is often used as a substitute for a full wash cycle, which is quite effective, but still not as effective as a regular washing machine cycle.

Useful algorithms for a modern dryer

The "Refresh" program we've been discussing is one of the most useful features in modern dryers, but the other modes are also very important. It is impossible to list them all, because, firstly, there are too many of them, and secondly, their set depends solely on the model. Therefore, we will describe only the most common operating cycles that can be found in almost every dryer.

  • Cotton Standard and Extra. Suitable for drying a variety of cotton items. This program allows the user to hang the garment immediately after drying, without ironing.

The drying time is set automatically based on the weight of the clothes loaded into the chamber, so housewives do not have to try to calculate the optimal operating time.

  • Cotton for post-ironing. A similar setting for treating cotton garments. The difference is that the garments remain slightly damp, making them ideal for ironing before storing.
  • Delicate Drying. This mode is for delicate fabrics that require gentle handling and should not be processed at high temperatures. This function allows for a strictly limited number of items to be processed at a time. This is done so to ensure there is plenty of space in the drum.
  • Mixed Fabric Drying. This program allows you to dry clothes made from different fabrics in a single drum. This is achieved using low to medium airflow. The manufacturer recommends using a half-load for this cycle.Siemens drying programs
  • Synthetics Extra. This feature features increased temperature and airflow to dry even the thickest fabrics. This program should only be activated when the drum is half full.
  • Standard Synthetics. A similar cycle, but for items made of finer synthetics that don't need to be ironed after drying, such as baby clothes, socks, and so on. The load is the same as in the previous two programs – half the load.
  • Wool. This function is for delicate fabrics that cannot be processed with other programs. It helps maintain the garment's shape, restore softness, and add freshness. Dry only one or two items at a time, leaving the drum almost completely empty.
  • Jeans. A highly efficient cycle that utilizes the dryer's maximum power to dry dense fabrics like denim.
  • Bedding. A special setting for drying large bedding made of cotton and blended fabrics.
  • Sportswear. This option is for treating polyester and other materials used in sportswear. This cycle is gentle enough to avoid damaging materials that are sensitive to high temperatures.Tumble dryer drying programs
  • Shirts and blouses. This cycle thoroughly treats office clothing and allows you to hang it right away. It features a long cycle time, low temperature, and high airflow.
  • Custom. This function is designed either to allow the user to customize the necessary settings, or to assign the most frequently used work cycle to a separate key, which the machine will automatically remember.
  • Hot Drying Timer. This option allows you to dry a single, very large item that takes up the entire drum. This could be a winter jacket, a pillow, a large blanket, or anything else that requires a thorough hot air treatment.

It is because of such a wide range of modes that the modern tumble dryer has become so popular, as it is a great way to make a housewife's life easier.
