How to cancel the delayed start on an Atlant washing machine?
The feature that allows you to start a cycle at any convenient time within 24 hours greatly simplifies the lives of modern washing machine users. However, owners of Atlant washing machines are rarely among the lucky ones. The fact is that it's virtually impossible to disable the delayed start feature on this manufacturer's machines according to the manufacturer's instructions. The only options are to either disable the feature or take a different approach. We suggest considering the latter.
Setting and removing the mode
Usually there are no problems with turning on the delayed wash function. The sequence given in the factory instructions is simple and clear, but just in case, we will provide a step-by-step algorithm. The procedure is as follows:
- use the programmer to “reach” the indicator responsible for selecting an additional function;
- wait until the light comes on, and then press the handle;
- calculate the desired delay time (the display will show a maximum of 24 hours);
- set the delay by turning the selector to the appropriate number of divisions (1 division equals 1 hour);
- Press the handle to activate the mode.
While turning it on is easy and straightforward, only a few people manage to disable the delayed start feature on their Atlant washing machine. The machine remembers the set wash conditions and doesn't allow them to be reset even after subsequent system reboots. The cancellation option suggested in the instructions doesn't work.
On Atlant washing machines, resetting the delayed start function is done according to an “unofficial” scheme.
The manufacturer offers the following algorithm for canceling the start delay:
- switch the selector to a position where additional functions can be selected;
- turn the handle towards the delayed start light and wait until it flashes;
- when the flickering starts, press the handle;
- by turning the programmer set the time “0:H”;
- Press the handle a second time, after which the indicator should go out.
However, following the instructions doesn't help. The indicator goes out, but the delay isn't reset. Despite being canceled, the machine continues to count down based on the previously set values. After a reboot, the situation remains the same—the washing machine won't allow a random cycle to begin.
If you can't reset the delayed start according to the instructions, you don't have to wait the allotted 5 or 24 hours. Another option is to use a working algorithm that can remove the delay on any Atlant washing machine, regardless of its year of manufacture. Follow these steps:
- hold down the program selector;
- holding the handle down, turn it to the left;
- wait until the system resets the timer settings;
- select a washing program;
- Make sure that the display shows the washing time corresponding to the duration of the selected mode.
After the first three steps, the system will cancel the delayed start and allow you to start any wash cycle. If resetting the delayed start fails the first time, you'll need to try again after rebooting the machine. This requires unplugging the machine for 10-20 minutes and then plugging it back in.
We cannot rule out a problem with the control board.
If, after several attempts, canceling the delayed start fails, it's worth checking the control board. This is especially true if the user doesn't remember activating this option. It is possible that the cycle delay was activated by the washing machine itself, or more precisely, due to a failure of the electronic module.
Diagnosing an electronic unit is a labor-intensive and risky task. Independently inspecting the board is strongly discouraged for many reasons, including the following:
- To find a fault in the board, it is necessary to sequentially ring each microelement and “track”;
- You must be proficient with a soldering iron and understand electronics;
- Simply replacing a faulty unit with a new one won't work - the situation will repeat itself, since the external problem of the failure must be eliminated before replacement;
- the electronic unit reacts sensitively to any interventions, so there is no room for error;
- a new board is expensive, so a mistake will be costly.
It's best not to experiment and instead have the board diagnosed at a service center. Checking and repairing the module isn't cheap, but a technician will guarantee quality and prevent the situation from getting worse. Keep in mind that using an improperly configured unit can damage not only the unit itself, but also the heater, motor, pump, and the entire system. You'll have to throw the circuit breaker out and buy a new one, which will cost you many times more.
Delayed start on Atlant washing machines won't be a problem if you understand how to activate and deactivate this feature in advance. Then, the delay won't become a burden.
