Delayed start on a Haier washing machine
Sometimes washing machine users want to start the wash cycle after a certain amount of time rather than immediately. The Haier washing machine's delayed start feature makes this possible. The timer allows you to delay the start of the cycle by several hours.
Let's look at how the delay timer works on Haier washing machines. How do I turn on the delay timer? Is this option compatible with all washing modes?
Let's activate this option
All modern Haier washing machines have a delayed start function. The acceptable delay time is from 30 minutes to 24 hours. On some smaller models, it's up to 19 or 9 hours. This means you can delay the start of the wash cycle by almost a day.
What's the point of a delayed cycle? The user can control the end time of the cycle. For example, maybe you want your laundry to be done by morning or when you get home from work. You can set the timer, and by the time you choose, the clothes will be clean and ready to unload.
How to enable the snooze timer:
- load items into the washing machine drum;
- add detergent to the powder dispenser;
- plug the machine into the power outlet, open the water inlet valve in front of the washing machine;
- select the desired washing mode;

- adjust the program settings (temperature, spin) if necessary;
- use the “Delayed start” button to set the delay time;
- Press the Start/Pause button to start the countdown.
When setting a delayed start, the display will show the end time of the washing program.
This is very important. If the delay is set for 6 hours, the machine will finish washing the laundry after that amount of time. If it's the "Cotton" program, the machine will start washing sooner, approximately 4 hours after the timer starts.
For example, a quick wash cycle is selected, lasting 45 minutes. The delay time is set to 8 hours. The cycle will begin in 7 hours and 15 minutes, and the machine will finish in 8 hours.
When using the delayed start feature, it's not recommended to use liquid laundry detergent. It's better to pour powder detergent into the detergent dispenser. After 15-20 minutes, the gel will drain into the drum, and at the beginning of the cycle, the drain pump will pump it, along with any remaining water, down the drain.
To deactivate the delay timer, simply turn the program selector. This will reset the delay start settings. This is sometimes necessary if you change your mind and want to start the wash right then and there.
Modes and their duration
To set the delay start time correctly, you need to understand how long the wash cycle lasts. Each Haier model has its own programming. A description of the basic algorithms and additional functions is provided in the washing machine instructions. Haier. The approximate duration of each cycle is also indicated there.
When selecting most programs, the cycle time is immediately displayed on the display. This makes setting the delay timer easy. However, there are modes whose duration is determined with a delay. Therefore, it's best to familiarize yourself with the cycle times in advance using the instructions.
- Cotton. A standard program designed for the care of durable cotton items. Program duration depends on the set temperature. On average, an automatic machine will run for 2.5-3 hours. Spinning is performed at the maximum speed for the model. A full drum load is permitted.
- Cotton+. This program is labeled as energy-saving. The cycle will run for approximately 3.5 hours, while consuming less kilowatts than a standard cotton cycle.
- Synthetics. This cycle is designed for washing synthetic fabrics. The cycle lasts just over an hour. The acceptable temperature range is from 30°C to 60°C. The spin speed is adjustable from minimum to maximum.
- Mixed wash. This cycle is designed for lightly soiled cotton and synthetic laundry. Full drum loads are allowed. The temperature can be adjusted from 30 to 60 degrees.
- Children's clothes. This program can be used to wash cotton, synthetics, and mixed fabrics. A distinctive feature of the algorithm is the intensive rinse. The temperature can be adjusted from 40 to 90°C. The cycle duration is 2.5 to 3 hours, depending on the set temperature. The drum load is half full.

- Hygiene. Antibacterial treatment program. Water in the drum is heated to 90°C. Not suitable for delicate fabrics. Spin speed is the maximum allowed (it can be reduced manually if necessary). Half-loads are allowed.
- Daily. This cycle is designed for everyday washing. The cycle lasts approximately 1.5 hours. Suitable for cotton and blended fabrics. Temperature settings range from 30 to 60 degrees.
- Sportswear. A special program for sportswear care. Load the drum only one-quarter full. Wash in cold water, from 20°C to 40°C. Duration: approximately one and a half hours.
- Delicates. This program is designed for delicate items. This mode is designed for washing delicate fabrics, items with fragile seams, light embellishments, etc. The water is heated to a maximum of 30°C, and the spin speed is set to the lowest setting. The cycle lasts just over an hour.
- Down duvet. Washing instructions for items with down filling. Suitable for outerwear, blankets, pillows, etc. Water temperature: 30 to 40 degrees Celsius.
- Express 15 Minutes. The fastest algorithm. If you leave the initial settings unchanged, the cycle will actually run for 15 minutes. Suitable for lightly soiled laundry that only needs a quick refresh.
- Wool. This cycle is for woolen items that can be machine washed. Items are spun at the lowest possible speed. The water temperature in the drum is kept below 40°C to prevent shrinkage.
- Self-cleaning. A program designed to care for the washing machine itself. The unit is rinsed from the inside with hot water (90°C). The cycle is performed with detergent, but without laundry in the drum.
Delayed start can be connected to any washing program on a Haier washing machine.
Many users aren't even aware of the delayed start feature. It's actually a very convenient addition. No need to wait for the machine to turn on. Simply activate the timer, and the washing machine will start working at the set time.
